Rate my team: Default H2h 9 teams...

Post#1 » by 3Si » Sun Oct 26, 2008 9:13 pm

9 teams default Yahoo H2h (Weekly Change):

PG Allen Iverson
SG Andre Iguodala
G Richard Hamilton
SF Josh Smith
PF Michael Beasley
F Tracy McGrady
C Amare Stoudemire
C Marcus Camby
U Gerald Wallace
U Josh Howard
BN John Salmons
BN Zydrunas Ilgauskas
BN Monta Ellis

My drafting strategy was based on BPA. I think name value wise, I did pretty good on the draft. But it's not built properly to win it all.

Waiver Material:

Salmons
Charlie V
Beno
Jameer
Raja Bell
Rafer
Collison
Drew Gooden
Hawes
Rudy F
Mike Conley
Grant Hill
McCants
Yi Jian
Delonte West
Ben Wallace
.
.
.

Right now I would say I have Steals and blocks locked up. Pretty good in PTS. Competitive in FG%. So I need to upgrade another cat or two.

Thanks in advance.

its hard for me to rate a team in a league of 9 teams cuz ive never played in one of those. in spite of that, i think your team rocks.

if i have to find something bad in it i could say.... T-mac, Big Z And Amare could spend some time in the Injured list.
And i guess, some other teams will rebound better than you. we are not sure how beast-ly will do in nba.

PD: Thanks for the advices in the yao-gay trade.

I would have got Salmons instead of Smith.

Yeah, he's on waiver at the moment, was dropped by someone. Picking Salmons up for Smith.

Thanks for the compliments.

When I said 9 team league, it's basically a 10 team league with a "dummie" team to make it even.

As for Tmac Z and to a lesser extent Amare. Yes, they are injury prone. But it's hard to past them up when they were drafted at 75 for Tmac and 106 for Z. That's another reason why I traded for Camby to have a safety net... Hmm, think that's an oxymoron.

I agree with the poster who said it's hard to gauge a team from a 9-team league, b/c there may very well be another squad that's just as stacked. That said, good team, generally speaking. You'll be strong on points, dominant on steals. But you'll also have some brutal weeks in turns of FG% and TO's (AI, AI2, Josh Smith and Ron Arteezy are all capable of shooting you out of a match-up). Try to score yourself another assist guy if you can, and you could be good to go.

Thanks, Artest is gone for Camby, so that will help FG% a lil. Josh doesn't take too many shots to begin with, so Amare should be able to carry AI.

As for your suggestion, imo, it's easier to score a 3pt guy than an assist guy. They are cheaper to get. I will need more than one player to compete in the assist cat.

I like the team... I'm not sure about the Artest for Camby trade, as I think this is the yr Camby disapoints. And Artest is a monster when his mind is right. But you needed to get some rebounding help, so if Camby stays healthy it should pan out.

You have alot of injury prone guys buyer beware ie: McGrady, Camby, G.Wallace, and Ilgauskas (lets hope he stays healthy cause I have him too).

Overall its a good team. I wouldnt make anymore moves until the season starts, and work from there.

Thanks, the Camby trade is definitely a risky one. But I needed some more rebound and with Josh Smith, block should be taken care off for my team. I for one is not that high on Artest this year, even if his head is on right, I don't see him repeating the numbers he did with the Kings. He's still going to get the steals, but his offensive number is guarantee to drop.

I think you need another solid big man. Honestly, I think you can get great value if you deal TMac and/or Monta. If you have an IR, keep Monta on it. But I wouldn't keep both. Plus you have a lot of other competent guards. You can use an Okafor on the squad.

Why do you think I need an Okafor? With Camby, Beasley, Z and Amare plus most of my guards (Gerald, Tmac, Josh), I have plenty of rebounds. Camby and Josh Smith can carry blocks easily.

The league is weekly change, so I can stack Monta without a problem. As for Tmac, his value is at the lowest right now, I see no reason to trade him at this point. I expect his value to increase when his % increases this year. Hopefully with Artest there, his shot selections will improve.

My bad. Didn't see Camby listed. Just thought you had Amare and JSmooth up front (blocks).
