Jays also picked up Bryan Bullington off waivers today, another high draft pick thats had some injury problems throughout his career.

Re: Blue Jays sign Adam Loewen
Bullington is a writhing mass of awful, though he did raise his K rate by quite a bit in 2008. At 28 he's solely an insurance arm/possible long man (and we did need a long man this year), but the more the merrier.
Loewen is intriguing; the odds are heavily stacked against him -- Ankiel gets the pitcher-turned-bopper press, but there have countless others that tried and failed -- but there's no harm in giving him a few months in extended camp and then letting him loose on the rookie ball circuit. I'll be cheering for him...he was an immensely talented, if erratic, pitcher, and it's awful to see a guy go from uber-prospect to promising pro to retirement in less than half a decade.

Bullington and Loewen?
I wonder if Chris Gruler and Clint Everts is available. Save for B.J. Upton that was one ugly first 5 draft picks in 2002.
