Celts/Wolves take 10

Post#1 » by Howler21 » Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:13 pm

Brewer
both Miami 2nd rounders

for

Tony Allen
Gabe Pruitt

My favorite trade I have been able to come up with that rids us of brewer. Allen is solid on d and given a chance could be a great fit in the starting lineup imo..

I think the Wolves have to hold onto Brewer, since they invested a lottery pick in him. I think he can still develop an offense to match the D. Tony Allen is under-rated, but his troubles off the court would probably make Glen Taylor flinch.

"Rids us of Brewer"? yikes. its only been one year. I hope Love averages 15/8 or we might be seeing these kind of deals with him next off season.

Im not really big on Pruitt. Allen is ok, but i agree that we should hold onto Brew and see where he goes. He looks like he has been working hard over the summer and i have been a bit impressed by his preseason.

I would pass, allen and pruitt wouldn't see many minutes here and I'd rather keep brewer's potential and see if he develops (he is only 22)

I might be the only one looking at it that way, basically have been since we drafted him ahead of better talent. I would much rather give Brewers minutes to Gomes at the 3 and have a mix of Allen and McCants at the 2.

Only way I do this is if we can find a way to get rid of Al Jefferson too.

Why would we want to get rid of brewer? At worse he is an energy guy off the bench.

I'd be more concerned about losing the 2nd rounders. Those are guaranteed to be Gilbert Arenas and Dennis Rodman.

How good would have Dennis Rodman been next to Al Jefferson. Oh man.

Rodman could pass, defend, rebound. Pretty much everything we need out of a 2nd big man.

I'm pretty sure the Celtics wouldn't do this...I know I wouldn't.
