Around the NBA, 2009 PLAYOFFS
We had one of these last year.
For those who weren't around back then, or who forgot, this thread is gonna be for random NBA talk that doesn't concern the Suns...
Basically a sorta mini-general board minus most of the dumbasses.
So, after the massive annual wait, the NBA season finally kicks off tonight.
Cavs vs Celtics :
Last year's 2nd round playoffs rematch. Will Mo williams play like crap next to LBJ like Larry Hughes did when Cleveland brought him over? Or will he form a deadly triple threat along with Big Z and Lebron?
For Boston, does Ray Allen still have enuf gas left in the tank? Will losing Posey be a significant loss for Boston?
I say Boston wins.
Milwaukee vs Chicago :
The young Chicago team looking to bounce back to their impressive form of a couple years ago, after reloading with Rose. Talk bout a stacked backcourt, Rose/Hinrich/Gordon/Hughes/Sefalosha...
For Milwaukee, eh , well they've got this noob called Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, good enuf reason to watch em.
I say Chi-town gets the W
Blazers vs Lakers :
Oden vs Bynum. Oden vs Bynum. Oden vs Bynum.
^^That's basically the only NBA talk we've been hearing all offseason, time for the 2 big kids to square off.
Will Aldridge mesh well with Oden? Or will they eat into each other's production? Are youngster rookies Oden/Batum/Bayless able to handle the NBA pressure already?
Can Bynum/Gasol/Odom co-exist? Or will 1 of em have to stay benched every single game for chemistry purposes? Will the Lakers have enuf cheerleaders and depth upfront left after losing Turiaf?
Will Kobe's pinky survive?
I say Lakers win, but Imma be rootin for the Blazers all the way... obviously.

Well, he did burst a ball while sitting on it at practice (for real, no jokes), so at least he's still usefull when it comes to comic relief!

if anyone is watching the cavs vs celtics game right now, did you just see delonte west get turned into the first poster of the 08-09 season? That Leon Powe dunk was vicious.

Yeah, Powe is pwnin. Tony Allen's doin pretty good off the bench too.
Garnett's seriously gotta stop taking those long range two's, dude misses every single one of em.

I wouldn't mind trading Diaw for Harrington Straight up, but i think we should at least give him a chance first and see how he adapts to his new role. He had some brilliant flashes in the preseason rebounding wise... and he seemed to have found his long lost ballsack in a few games... hopefully he can hold on to em. cross your fingers

Is Granger locked up long term?
Would love him here....I'd offer him $60m over 5

Yeah too early to trade Diaw now. December maybe?

He's their franchise player now that JO is gone, highly unlikely he won't get an extension.
60/5 sounds fair for a player like him.

Nellie/Mullin aren't THAT dumb...they can get more for Al than Curry's flabby ass
