Quick question though. Why do people refer to McCarthy as M3?

Much like the brewers, I believe that our best acquisition is another year of experience. Hawk should only improve after a great rookie year. Poppinga will benefit from an offseason of studying tapes. Jennings should also grow into a very productive #2 reciever to complement Driver.

The only thing I do regret is not drafting a solid corner. I like Will Blackmon, but I fear he is another Chris Johnson/Michael Hawkins (a little pessimistic, I know) who is unbelievably gifted, but can't get to the field.

Marviel Underwood will be a player to watch. The coaches seemed to be quite fond of him during training camp last year.

Solid D-line. I really think we may see an impact from Jason Hunter this year ( the limb I am on is thin and long) at the backup d-end position if we choose to cut Kabeer. This is My Ted Thompson prediction (if I'm right, I look like a genius).

Another prediction. By the end of the season Tony Moll will be your starting left Tackle. He had a good showing last year in limited time, and I fear Clifton's knee injuries will finally get the best of him. Moll had very limited strength (18 reps at the combine) and experience for the position (one year of tackle in college), but still did a good job when called upon.

Awesome analysis and I agree with it all. I think they could get lucky and go 9-7 though since the defense should be one of the better ones against the run. I also believe if Underwood stays healthy, he could really solidify the safety position. Last but not least, like Ill-yasova said, the experience gained from last year will be big. I think that offensive line by midseason could start to push some teams around and the running game could really come around. The thing with zone blocking schemes is if you get the right kind of players in the right position, you do not need Ogdens on your line or LT's in your backfield to have a decent amount of success. You just need solid players and a RB who makes one good read, takes one cut, and goes.

BTW, people refer to him as M3 because he is the 3rd Mike in recent memory.

Well I'll confess my wrong - I thot M3 was called that because his middle name was Matthew (heard that somewhere - do not know for sure at all) hence each of his 3 names started with an M.
