Miller's Match-up of the Night

ImageImage

Tayshaun Prince is widely regarded as one of the premier lock-down defenders at the small forward position. With his wide wing-span and lanky form, he can alter shots that the average player can't get to. Caron Butler, on the other hand, is an offense-first player who likes to stick to the mid-range game as his shot of choice. He'll occasionally back his defender down and attempt a fade-away, as well as a strong drive to the hoop, but these are few and far between. Can Tough Juice create enough space to get his shot off with consistency? Will he be more accurate against the Pistons than he was against the Nets? Can he check his opposing small forward who, albeit less talented, can score well within Detroits methodical offense? Only time will tell.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three Keys to a Wizards Win

1. Dictate the Tempo - It seems that, with our current starting lineup and bench, we should be slightly faster than last season (noting the subtraction of Haywood). Because of this, I think a run and gun style is best suited for our team. We can't let the Pistons trap us into a slow-tempo game where defense reigns supreme.

2. Guard the Perimeter - This could really be a key to every Wizards game but specifically this one since the Pistons starting lineup is comprised of 4 players who can stroke the 3 with relative consistency (Billups, Hamilton, Prince and Wallace).

3. Establish Set-Rotations - Let players know exactly what's expected of them. Most notably - the minutes they should expect and when to expect them. It is of my belief that players play better when they know what's expected from the coaching staff.

I don't even remotely expect a win here, but I'm still interested in watching to see if N1 can turn in another all-around game and if Blatche can perform in a calmer, more controlled manner.

Can't see a win, perimeter shooting with nothing else to offer. 0-2

I'll be watching, bring back the chat room Mods.

Cheers.

This coming from the guy who made the thread with supposedly "good juju" babe pics?

Instead of trying to fool everyone into thinking they provide good luck, just let them know their real purpose - to give an un-inspiring, 2nd-rate excuse for a game-thread the 'look' of quality.

Just keep this in mind, my good friend - you can wrap a piece of crap in wrapping paper....but it's still a piece of crap.

You aren't fooling anybody...you and Pine are no better than MCcain and Palin. A corrupt snitch is promoted to modship without being properly vetted. Pine attacked me, yet just like MCcain has faded into obscurity leaving his lipsticked pitbull without a leash.

You've called me a lot of things in our years on this board....but 'Sarah Palin' is undoubtedly the most insulting. You and I both know that I'm Barack Obama, the interesting, highly intelligent, inspiring new-comer. And you? You're Larry Craig....so good luck with that.

Back to the Pistons win...I mean game

0-2 on our way to 1-13 in November, baby!
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Definitely a loss. All I care about is that McGee gets meaningful minutes again. I'd love to see him pwn the KFB at least once.

By pointing at him on the bench and laughing?

Now that I think about it...that was quite insulting. I apologize. Seriously.

So the one thing that binds us is Sarah Palin. You can list the awful interviews, seeing Russia from her house, the $150,000 clothes, or whatever have you....but her biggest down-fall might just be finding common ground for us.

Quite the indictment.

Not even a close game wiz lose 105-80 I expected a win against NJ but I wasn't surprised to lose to them but I don't know what to expect from this years team.

Sarah Palin, Larry Craig ... You guys are cracking me up. :)

I say the Wizards are gonna play Detroit softer than Barney Frank's lisp.

No, seriously, I think the Wizards will probably bounce back and play competetively. Jamsion and Butler both will play better. Even though I'm sure Chauncey and Rip wlll get a ton of clean looks, this might be a game where the Wizards decide to hit the open shot.

I say Wizards play them tough but lose in the end, 101-99.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I agree with CCJ. The Wizards always play better against better teams. However, I also agree that they will lose. I'm just looking for more steady play with Blache and Young, and hope to see more of McGee.

Definitely predicting a loss tomorrow night. I'll still be watching though, I'm interested to see the rotation. Specifically, I'm hoping McGee gets some burn and that Dee Brown is off the bench before Juan (who should be buried at the end of the bench or inactive).
