A little too much in the 2nd game of the season

Post#1 » by Beware » Fri Oct 31, 2008 5:34 am

Too many things happened in tonight’s game that left an overall ill feeling in my gut. Sure, we are 1-1, and it’s the start of the season, but it always hurts to lose and to lose so badly.

First, it seemed they came out thinking they had it all made with the win against the Spurs, coming out flat and just plain wack.

Then, they didn’t seem to know how to play defense at times. Easy score after easy score.

Next, the horrendous officiating, seriously that was just bad officiating…it seemed EVERYTHING was called on us, and nothing on the Hornets…it was ridiculous.

The turnovers right after the comeback was just the toping on the cake with 20+, Nash had 3 in a row. It just seemed they gave up…

I hate this feeling; I really do…it sucks.

the officiating was terrible for sure!

they hit some awesome threes, even with guys in their face, so be it, good luck to them

barbs hill barnes etc all needed to give us more, they were all off on the same night and we will never win with 20+turnovers

the best thing about the NBA is that your next game isnt far away. bring on the blazers

on a positive note, the suns have been unlucky to face 3 very tough teams in their first 3 games, but caught a break with manu, chandler and oden being out

Our defense was absolutely horrendous! Seriously, what was with the double-teaming on EVERY single possesion? At times, I kept thinking that our defense was even worse than years past.

The only bright side is I know this is a learning experience and I'll be happy if we can go 5-5 in our first 10 games. I honestly just hope that Porter actually has something to teach our players, if not we're doomed.

I think the Hornets are like the new darling team of the NBA now. It also helps to have a player who almost won MVP on their team to get a few superstar calls.

I didn't think we would win in this one anyway. This one I'll give them. Our guys must still be high from the win at San Antonio yesterday.

Hornets are a better team than us without a doubt. We played like SH*T, but, they were missing Chandler and still murdered us. Yeah, I loved our 4th quarter come back, and if there was any real officiating, we'd have won that game. Those 2 T's we got, if we hadn't that would've been a ONE point lead. Just imagine the possibilities....

I was very disappointed in Porter's coaching last night, but it's way too early to panic.

Remember how everyone panicked after the rough start when Shaq came to Phoenix? Then the team turned things around and won 15 of their last 20 games.

However, Porter's coaching has left me disappointed with a few things these last two games.

1. Amare didn't get enough touches against the Spurs until the 4th quarter and Shaq got too many touches against them.

2. Shaq didn't get enough touches against the Hornets and they sat him on the bench way too much in the 2nd quarter even though he wasn't in foul trouble and he looked active in the first quarter.

3. It seems Bell and Nash are frustrated with him.

Listen, I was against hiring Porter from the beginning, but it's way too early to panic.

SUNS need to do two things to become a respectable team:

1) run, run, run!

2) stay with their man constantly on defense (follow him to the loo even)
