My Draft Review:

Leon Hall: What a pick! i love it!! A+ no brainer pick. if the bengals didn't pick leon hall with that pick, everyone working for the bengals should be fired. i don't get why people want houston or ross at this pick, leon hall is the best CB available.

Kenny Irons: Surprising and interesting pick. i guess marvin lewis want the dual back system in cincy. plus chris perry gets injured all the time... even with chris perry injured, i see kenny irons running and chris perry being a 3rd or 4th receiver. we all know that chris perry is 6 foot and has a receiver hands so i'm not worry about him as long as he's not injured...

Marvin White: don't know much about him but i like the bengals picking another defensive player.

Jeff Roew: really? a quarterback at 5th round? doug johnson is our backup. you don't need to spend a 5 round pick on a 3rd string quarterback... i'm pretty pissed at this pick. what a waste. we could have used it on a TE since our TE corp is the WORST IN THE LEAGUE!!! and we call ourselves the best offense in the league.... sigh...

Matt Toeaina: PNF knows more about the guy so i guess i will let him talk about Matt. a DT? no complaint.

Dan Santucci: i guess a good pick since the guy defended brady quinn but i don't know...

Chinedum Ndukwe: another notre dame player.... why??? plus notre dame defense sucked last year.... maybe he's just a good special team player, who knows......

Overall: i give this year's draft a B. leon hall is an A+ pick but the rest is questionable. jeff rowe pick pissed me off the most. plus, i want a Tight End!!! look at our Tight End Depth Chart!! ITS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!!

Yeah, I don't mind how we drafted. But we definetly could have adressed some of our needs better. But I'm sure theres a reason for some of the more questionable picks *cough* QB 5th round *cough*

No names really jump out at me on that list. Even Earl Everett doesn't seem that impressive.

I'm beginning to be disillusioned by this draft based on how the other teams in the division did.

We also signed J.D. Nelson of my Ducks as a potential filler at FS or SS. Nelson's a good tackler and a hard hitter, but he's not that great in coverage and at the combine he posted an ignominious 4.82 in the 40.

More like :o ...but if you look at his college career, he was actually productive, so that 40 time can probably be improved upon. Remember, Johnnie Lee Higgins Jr. of the Raiders ran a 4.5 at the combine and he's been timed at 4.18.

That's no typo. Higgins is a beast. Consult Icness if you want more information.

For the sake of spurring activity, Icness' review of the Bengals' draft:

The picks:
1st round, #18 overall--Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
2nd round, #49--Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
4th round, #114--Marvin White, S, TCU
5th round, #151--Jeff Rowe, QB, Nevada
6th round, #187--Matt Toeaina, DT, Oregon
7th round, #230--Dan Santucci, C, Notre Dame
7th round, #253--Nedu Ndukwe, S, Notre Dame

Best pick: Hall
Worst pick: White, though not a bad pick

Analysis:

The Bengals had Leon Hall, the best cover CB in the draft, unexpectedly fall to them. He fills their biggest need without having to deal picks. Hall will start right away and also offers another option in the woeful return game. Irons has battled injuries but is a powerful, shifty runner, and pairing him with Rudi Johnson brings added depth and more punch where they needed it. White is a fierce hitter who will help shore up the run defense, though it might take him some time to pan out. I like the selection of Rowe, a project at this point but a very accurate thrower with a decent arm, as an insurance policy and developmental QB. Toeaina and Santucci are both physical effort guys, solid citizens, and add depth.

Grade: B

Hall is one of the best overall picks, and Irons could turn out to be a steal if he can absorb the NFL playbook. They chose a lot of hard-working, strong-character guys who can help a little right now but perhaps a lot in a year or two. That
