Is Byron Scott trying to screw the Celtics?

Post#1 » by AthrunZala » Fri Oct 31, 2008 1:47 pm

First, he signed up Posey as a free agent. Then he wants to sign up PJ Brown too in New Orleans. I think he is just a Lakers' secret agent who will do everything from keeping Boston from repeating as champs. When he was head coach of the NJ Nets, he wasn't even able to beat the Lakers in the finals 2x which led Jason Kidd arguing for Byron Scott's replacement. I don't think he even has the heart to beat the Lakers with him as the head coach of NO Hornets

He's trying to win the NBA championship. That's all...

Pose and PJ were important bench players to our playoff run in 2008 and every contender should have interest in them.

Regardless, Byron Scott is a major league A-hole who still acts like it was HIM that won all those rings and not riding on the coattails of a few guys named Magic, Kareem, and Worthy (yes, I know Scott was a good player from when I used to watch him play, but he was not THAT good!)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

There is a league wide conspiracy to screw the Celtics. All the GM's have ganged up to make Boston lose, none of them have any interest in making moves so their team wins. (sic)

yeah, McHale really helped us out... all he got in return for KG was probably the best young low post scorer in the NBA who averaged 21 and 11 last season. boy did he get raped.

I hate Scott but I don't blame him. He's just trying to make the team better. In the end I think PJ would rather come back to the C's but who knows? If PJ returns it won't be for a while

I really don't think Scott would be trying to screw the Celtics. He wants those guys to play the same role they played for the Celtics. If they happened to play for the Cavs and the Cavs went all the way last year, chances are the Hornets' front office still pursues those guys.

With that said, if the Celts are indeed interested in adding PJ Brown sometime later this season, I think the Celts will have to earn his services. He's from Louisiana, and if the Hornets look like early favorites, he may just opt to stay home and play for the home team.

Hold on now. Firstly, it was the organization that signed Posey not Scott. Secondly, I agree There are conspiracies that exist all around us, some with positive and some with negative intention and no one is absolutely objective. We all have subjective natures stemming from our friendships, our family, and philosophic loyalties. The individuals involved in the NBA are no exeption, and all teams plot and conspire towards different aims, of course, that's life.

I'm not claiming this is an impossibility, however, who wouldn't want to sign Posey? He is a leader who came off an NBA championship with the Celtics against the Lakers and recently got his first with the Heat. Scott will probably always have an affinity and loyalty towards the Lakers, but are you suggesting that he intentionally threw the two finals appearences against LA as the Nets head coach because he is a secret agent? I can't buy that without some money trail or recorded conversation that he is carrying this out. I'll bet he respects many of our teammates and I'm sure he has NO NO NO love for the Celtics but is he doing anything an intelligent coach wouldn't? When has any coach/ organization wanted to help the defending NBA champions repeat or get better? Most organizations target free agents from winning and championship teams.

I've heard nothing yet this year that Byron is looking to sign PJ, but he did want Brown last year before our leaders convinced him to play for the Celtics at the All-Star Game. If this is your feeling your instincts serve you well because PJ would be a perfect fit for them because they are light in the front court. PJ also makes sense to any playoff team looking for front court help.

The statement that he wouldn't have the heart to beat the Lakers is ludicrous. Come on now.

To quote DON KING, "That's Insaniludicrous!"

dude your sarcasm detector is way off. I'm so glad in hindsight we made this trade. I was actually only playing the general public opinion card of people about the connection of McHale to the C's

PJ Brown was a horney before he was a celtic plus he lives down there. I hate byron scott but it's not his fault we lost posey. the celts blew that one and it's already hurting our bench

This is all Byron knows. Byron was even a Laker fan before he became a Laker. In 94 w/ the Pacers, when he came back to LA, he said, "I still bleed purple, I bleed that color." Still does LA drivetime sports radio everytime they call. Man of honor, that.
