Around The NBA!! (Playoff Edition!!!)

Post#1 » by iamworthy » Sat Nov 1, 2008 1:05 am

Last year we had a thread similar to this created by DCash about what was going on in the NBA. Hopefully we can sticky this so Laker fans have a place to go to talk about what they have seen around the NBA and what concerns them in regards to the other teams out there as we move forward this season. Or maybe you just want to talk about whats going on in the NBA. With that being said here we go.

I watched the Houston vs Dallas yesterday, and while I think they are very good I still think we can get them in the playoffs. The biggest plus were gonna have over teams it the bench. Our starting 5 should be able to get us out to a nice start but even if the game is tied when our and their starters go out we should be able to keep the pressure on. Also Vlade is coming around like I thought he would. Typically people in their 3rd year under Phil seems to get it.

Ronny is the type of player thats gonna be legit in like 3-4 years from now. We will all look back and say," he use to be on our team".

I say that now  :D

Seriously, I agree. In a few years he will prove why most of us hated to see him go. He will realize is potential, which is very high.

Just heard that AI wasn't a captain this season for the Nuggets...............honors going to Melo and Nene. Coby's daddy has done it again.....count down to who goes first is on.

Spurs dont look so hot. I know Manu is out but damn......3 scorers cannot beat the elite teams in the nba this year.

Even if Manu was there it would be 3 vs 10..........Spurs are off balance. Yeah their fans love to say they got younger but they did with 2nd and 3 tier guys. Desmond Farmer was average at best at SC, and they went goo goo gaa gaa over Mason who was a utility guy in D.C.

With enough playing time I think Josh Powell could fill his shoes

Hey rockets fan here. Gotta give you guys your props, the lakers came out ready to roll. They look like they're trying to prove a point like the '96 bulls. The celts are looking pretty good, too. As far as head to head benches go, though, you might want to wait until ours is healthy (like that ever happens for us) cuz ours is pretty sick too. Ron-ron's coming off when battiers ready to start so i think we'll have some good late season games to look forward to. I don't think my team's ready for you guys right now, though.

Is there any truth to Artest coming off the bench, or is that a realgm rumor?

I absolutely LOVE what the Grizzlies have done to that team... For all the hate Wallace has received for the Pau trade and from his days in Boston, he has built a really nice young team modeled after the 90's Bulls... If their players keep developing at the same rate and a few more roster moves, they're going to be a legit contender...

Please don't tell me you're comparing OJ Mayo to MJ.

And I'd advise people to watch the Raptors as much as they can this season. I predicted Jermaine O'Neal would be the DPOY this season, and he's filling that role. 3 Blocks last night, and I think he's taken 3 charges this season so far. Bosh's Olympic experience is making him into a beast and a GREAT leader.

he's been REALLY lazy on the boards. i watched their game against the sixers where dalembert got like 17 rebounds and yesterday were biedrins grabbed like 13. he's getting beat to the spot every time.

i don't think so, since his timing on blocks has been excellent. he's gotten some highlight level blocks. he's just not blocking out.

edit: btw, sacramento stinks. kevin martin isn't stepping up into the 1st option like many thought he would. beno udrih and his full mle 5 year deal looks like its already a horrible contract. man they suck.
