Re: **Official Gm a Team trades/transactions Thread**
That is what I thought but was told by Portland that I could post his pending release. I have no problem waiting on dumping Jackson if the trade is approved. If it isn't approved no biggie either. I'll find another team to send Tucker to for a similair package.

Well we can always repost the Jackson pickup. I'm pretty confident noone else would want him anyway...
As for the back and forth trade, this isn't one. The first trade got approved, and now this is a totally separate trade. You're allowed to reacquire a player you've previously traded, correct? So what's the problem?

LBJ- this pretty much admits what the plan was.. to do the first trade then do the second trade.. it was not like the first trade was done then discussions started for the second. It's a blatant attempt to trade players back and forth. I'll just wait to see if the commish allows it or not.. and stick by that.

Well I don't see anything forbidding this on the main page. I also think this happened earlier in the game, and dcash just said to wait until the first trade is approved. But we shall wait for dcash...

Re: **Official Gm a Team trades/transactions Thread**
yeah, there really isn't any problem with the back and forth stuff. as long as both deals are done separately (i.e. wait til the first is approved), and both deals are not veto worthy (this includes the return trade), there really isn't anything i'm going to do because this encourages more trades, the point of the game. there really isn't anything i should do, since its impossible for me to try to "uncover" someone's true motives or however you want to refer to it.

I get what you're saying but I think the idea you're talking about was meant to prevent the massive deals Zong was a fan of. You know those ultra complicated 4 trades taking place simulataniously so that it took the commissioners the whole approval process in order to figure out who was going where and if all the deals worked financially and legally.

The Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers have a trade to announce:
The Knicks trade Quentin Richardson ($8,685,500) to the Cavs for Eric Snow ($7,312,500).
Besides the obvious reasons to make this deal I have a glut at the wings I was trying to get rid of. I also have a glut of point guards but Snow won't affect my plans whatsoever. He might actually become a decent veteran backup for me depending upon my plans. We shall see.

The Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs have a trade to announce:
Wizards out
Gilbert Arenas 11.9 million
Salim Stoudamire $826,269
total = 12.726269 *125% =15.907
wizards in
Tony Parker $11,550,000
Michael Finley $2,500,000
better of sas and noh 09 second
2010 sas second
total = 14,050,000 < 15.907
Spurs out
Tony Parker $11,550,000
Michael Finley $2,500,000
better of sas and noh 09 second
2010 sas second
total = 14,050,000*125%= 17.5625
Spurs in
Gilbert arenas $14,653,465
Salim Stoudamire $826,269
total= 15,479,734 <17.56
The Wizards do this because we feel that tony's more traditional style of play, championship experience, and more resonable contract warrant the lose of Gilbert. We also pick up a solid shooting guard to help with our depth.

Cleveland Accepts
Snows Expiring was pretty much worthless seeing how he dosent play anymore, i got some awful offers for it and this was the best i received with Quentin Richardsons above average play at the beginning of the season, I needed someone to come off the bench behind lebron for 12 mins a game so hes the guy. Also hes a 2010 expiring which i have been stocking up on.

yes it works, arenas is BYC but your trade treats him as BYC. just look at the different salaries for arenas in the outgoing and incoming.
12 hr period hasn't expired yet though. please wait.

Check the numbers again bro. I'm not sure where they 11m figure came from, but half of Gil's salary isn't 11m. It's 7m. Washington needs to send more out.

The trade needs to involve additional salaries to make it work. The team sending a BYC player can only absorb half of outgoing BYP player salary.

11 million is his salary last year. for byc purposes, u either use half his current salary or his salary last yr, which ever is greater.

Re: **Official Gm a Team trades/transactions Thread**
lol...I can't find any sort of normal math that would've made him arrive at that figure on Gil's "outgoing".
Unless he divided by the 1.25 for the 25% for some reason?
That or he's using calculus...lol

Re: **Official Gm a Team trades/transactions Thread**
When trading a base year player, the salary used for comparison is the player's previous salary, or 50% of the first-year salary in his new contract, whichever is greater.

He barely made it to BYC status to begin with. I already knew the rule but thanks for the link to a place we can find last years salaries. In case I need one I will know where to find it.
