Sean Williams

Post#1 » by Train7492 » Mon Nov 3, 2008 3:04 pm

I was wondering if he would be a PF that the Pacers would be interested in? Haven't seen him play much but I think he has alot of upside. Has he had some trouble off the court? I was just looking for the next couple of years, and thought he might be someone to take a chance on. Ford, Rush, Granger, Williams, Hibbert would be a awsome defensive team. I was thinking like what was posted on the trade board, Daniels, Baston for Swift, Williams I would even give them a 2nd.

He has too many red flags for my taste. There were "character" questions about him when he came into the league--he got kicked off his Boston College team for pot if I remember correctly. He showed some promise last year, but now he is bitching about his contract and getting DNP-CDs. The Pacers should look elsewhere for a power forward IMO.

And he's not bitching about his contract because of the team he's on, he just wanted the Nets to decline his option so that he could get a big money extension from them earlier than they have to give him one.

He's in this just about himself and the money.

I want Granger's. Not Sean Williams'es. Or Shawne Williams'es. Or Marcus Williams'es.

He'd fit very well in our team in my opinion, is a very interesting player...but I don't like his personality, want to make big money so fast, had some troubles in the past, and it's not what we are looking for anymore...

I'll be honest I had a man crush on this guy since the draft. I was able to over look the pot. Due to it was a while back, and he was just a kid that hadn't showed any other signs of concern. But when I saw a player pushing for big money early makes me concerned big time. No interest unless all we give up is a 2nd or bench fodder like Baston or McRoberts.

Sean hasn't had any blowups off the court in NJ, but he's a bit of a character... There were a couple of stories over the summer about he randomly showed up at a couple of hospitals while on vacation just to see some of the kids there and cheer them up.

I think he generally means good, but doesn't always think before he acts, which is why he needs to be in a setting with good character people around him.

That's pretty much how we described Ron Artest up until the seconds before the brawl ignited in Detroit. Don't think we need to deal with that again.

i like sean williams as a player at a position of need that could fit in with what the pacers are doing. also, the nets happen to need a point guard... and they're moving to brooklyn...

It looked to me that if we picked up Sean Williams, he would be the second best Williams named Sean (Shawne) we've had on the team.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

the power forward we are looking for should come in next year's draft ... although it might turn out to be McBob. sure we might get a low post scorer in a Tinsley trade but don't overlook the fact that the low post was Ike's game and we moved him. we can be patient. there is no reason at all to look at guys who can't get off their current team's bench.
