Yeah my buddy has 3 friends that work in NBA Headquarters and he shot me an email about this a few hours ago. AI for Billups and McDeyse. Decent for both teams. Shows Detroit is making a transition: Sheds some salary after the season and open's the door for Stuckey next year who Dumars said is their PG of the future. For Denver is gives them a reliable big man and still a top 10 PG who is in a decent contract. Both players add some quality defense to their team.

My friend also said there is a deal being finalized between the Pistons and Golden State...Stephen Jackson/filler for Tayshaun Prince/filler. I haven't heard anything about this on any sites but he said this deal is basically done too.

At first I thought this was really stupid for the Pistons. But then again they still have a solid defensive team and iverson gives them the scoring they need to really blow teams out. GREAT deal for the nuggets. Practice???

Man I seriously still say something emulating the "Practive" rant probably every other week. That and "Straight cash homie" from Randy Moss are 2 of the funniest things in the world to me.

They are also going to be one of the players in the Lebron lottery.

So they are just clearing up space. Prince trade makes a lot of sense.

I can't see Lebron going to Detroit. They're trying to become a player in 2010, but I think they have a worse chance than we do landing Lebron.

I can't see that happening either. He's owed 13+ million over 2 years. They only trimmed like 5 million off their cap this year with the deal and they're still over the lux tax so unless they can convince him to take 2.5 million as a buyout, that will cost them more than it would keeping AI which makes it pointless. McDyess I don't think would EVER give up 11 million dollars just so he could go back to Denver.

I like the deal for Detroit, I just don't undestand totally why Denver is taking on more salary. They only become marginally better to me. Unless they finally found a taker for K-Mart (who's been playing great so you wonder if they're showcasing him) or Nene, this deal doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They're still a 2nd round out at best in the west and now have lux tax problems for a few more years.

Isnt detroit a big market? Not as big as NY, LA or Chicago, but Detroit is bigger then Cleveland. I dont think the other sports franchises in Detroit are bigger then the Pistons. The arena is probably always sold out. Dont forget Detroit has history. The last thing it isnt disfuntional like the Knicks.

As far as our chances are concerned, as one of the bigger advocates of getting lebron, NO BROOKLYN == NO LEBRON. At this point, I am going to be a HATER. I would rather see Lebron in a Pistons jersey then see him in a Knicks.

You are right Prelude.

Unless they work something out, No way they buyout McD. They are better off holding on to him and trading him for a salary dump.

As for Billups, I see why Denver did it. No way they resign AI. They would need a PG. No way they put out money to get another PG.

^^^^ Totally forgot they really still wouldn't have a lot of space to get a decent PG this offseason, so in that respect, getting Billups is great. But we got the same idea now with McD too. The only problem I have with this deal still is that they're handcuffed with the lux tax for 2-4 more years unless they can move Kmart or Nene now.

Detriot is a bigger market than Cleveland, but in the greater scheme of things, not that much bigger on a global scale. With Lebron wanting to be a Global icon and all, I don't just can't see him signing with Detroit as the move in the right direction.

I like this trade for my fantasy team...

I don't have much to comment on this as the only way this is Nets related is the 2010 sweepstakes. We all know our position: No Brooklyn = No LeBron. With Brooklyn, we have the best shot than any other team in play.

I highly doubt Lebron goes to Detroit.

They have made themselves serious players for guys like Amare, Bosh and Wade.

That's crazy if that S Jax deal goes down.

Edit:Well, it's pretty funny, I think it might have been Ric Bucher that said we should see a lot of early trades this season because of the relative inactivity in the offseason.

Haha I agree. I have Stuckey and Prince on my fantasy teams. I am wondering how this will play out now. Stuckey is my last guy on my roster so he's dispensible, but it should be interesting.

that's EXACTLY what I said to him. I still haven't seen anything mentioned about it even on rumor sites so I think that's BS. I know the 3 people he's friends with in NBA headquarters and they 9 times out of 10, they're not wrong about trades going down, but I'm still holding my breath out on this one.

this bad mor my fntsy, prince wil not score more pts if AI is there

as far as the Lebron thing, if we defenitely clear it for '11, then we still have a good chance, we gotta let Jay-Z work his magic...

Maybe we are looking at 2011 FA?

Anyone know who will be a FA that offseason?

done deal...Melo will get to do his thing w/ billups, which might be a better fit...Colorado native...and Dice gets a chance...

Dumars is really shaking things up, I wonder how the rest of the team feels...that was a close group...AI and Sheed on the same team...gonna be fun...
