If we lose this one, we really need to rethink on where we're going as a franchise.....

EDIT: The Kings are a pretty talented team albeit.

This is a great chance for the 76ers to be a game above .500 after these next two games. They cant take the Kings and Heat lightly though. They just have to take care of business.

Unforunately though. after these two games the 76ers play @ Orlando which will be the 2nd game of a back-to-back. While Orlando will have 2 FULL DAYS of rest. So that should be a really tuff game for us.

If I was a betting man, I'd say the 76ers will have a 3-3 record after the next 3 games.

Kanga- way to capture the look on Iguodala. The guy has to stop letting himself get so frustrated and just play the game.

The Kings are the worst team in the Western Conference. But after that Hawks game, I'm kind of scared of predicting a blowout. Because I predicted a Hawks blowout and we lost.

Sixers-104
Kings-95.

Elton Brand:25/9/3 blks.

From Fagan's column:
The Sixers have 56 turnovers on the season, compared with 30 for their opponents

The offensive TO's will improve, but I am worried about the defense. The team was amongst the leaders in TO's forced last year. This year they send out a bigger starting line-up, but they are still quick. They need to turn up the pressure on defense. they have two shotblockers in the paint- they need to start pressuring the ball in the backcourt and put Young and Iguodala's length and quickness to better use.

Well, I wouldn't be too worried about any one game at this point. This team needs to learn how to best utilize Elton Brand within it's system. This will be an ongoing process throughout the first half of the season. During that time, you hope they win at least half of their games and then begin winning a little more often during the second half of the season. They are going to have games (or quarters) where they will look like champions and some where they will look like chumps. The players are experimenting and so are the coaches. It is my belief that all this will shake out in time for them to be a very formidable opponent come playoff time. They will then know who they are as a team and how they win. It will be an enjoyable ride. That is ... it will be enjoyable if you do not go to pieces and believe the world is coming to an end each time they look bad. They are going to look bad on occasion. Consider it all part of the process.

In theory this team should be a machine at forcing turnovers. The lineup is quick like last year, but is now even longer with the additions of Brand and Young to the starting lineup.

As for the bolded part, they've been pressing quite a bit, specifically in the Toronto game. Even if it's not forcing turnovers, it disrupts the offense. I counted quite a few times where Toronto wasn't able to get into their offensive sets until the clock was down to 12 or lower. This was even the case when Toronto had Calderon at the point; not just for Ukic.

It is just the 4th game of the season but..... well, we need to put together a solid 48. We all loved the Knicks' game but the Atlanta game was a tale of two halves. In the second half, we were the have-nots. I think we pull it out hence...

My Prediction: Sixers by 5+

Great game thread. I like the gifs, but it took a minute for it all to download.

Believe it or not (I'm walking on air), the match-up I want to see is Speights against Hawes.

That essentially has been the biggest problem - we are turning the ball over way too much, which at this point is understandable as they aren't used to playing with one another, and we aren't forcing nearly enough turnovers, which is more puzzling. Not only that, when we do force turnovers, we don't run very successfully, which is also puzzling. Then again, we have Iggy and Young at a new position, Miller is a notoriously slow starter, Brand is new to the team, Dalembert missed a chunk of the pre-season, and Marshall, Ratliff, Speights, Ivey, and Rush are all new to the team.

Geiger: The problem is that guy named Mo isn't using the bench. AT ALL, let alone how he could use it. ****, this team should be at the very least 2-1, if not 3-0. Brand may be new to the team, but he is averaging well over 12 boards a game. The dude is sick and there's no reason we should be losing basketball games....Oh wait. Yeah.

Losing to the freaking Kings would be the last straw for the nut of a head coach called Mo. Who I haven't liked since he was hired and still don't like since. His Portland Record was not a coincedience. He's a bad coach.

A weak Western Conference team that Brand should know very well. I believe he dominates tonight.
I'll truly enjoy seeing that.

Sixers by a dozen.

I think we can throw Iggy into the notoriously slow starter category too. He started out last year like this one, forcing passes and trying to do too much. When he played within himself later in the year his TO's went way down and his productivity and positive contributions went way up. Reminds me a little of Ryan Howard in April.

Ryan Howard just needs to learn "Batting Mechanics: Reading Pitches" 101. To avoid those strikeouts.

According to Thad on DNL, the Sixers lost in Atlanta due to the combination of Atlanta's momentum and the Sixers' fatigue. Whatever.
