We really do need to get a big man that can play defense!I don't even want to know what the Lakers and Rockets will do to us with that kind of low post D! However our perimeter defense seems a little better. Our bench play is the best I've ever seen it. I love Brevin and what he brings to us. He will help us win on the road! I want to see the Jazz amke a move for a big, but I don't know if it will happen anytime soon. Ak-47 is back and he will get sixth man of the year if we hold on to him. As for CJ i think Matty might have a chance at starting when he comes back. I'm not saying give Harpring huge minutes, but around 15-17 minutes would be good for him I think. CJ is not taking the chance we are giving! Hopefully he shows some energy with D-Will getting him the ball!

CJ is playing freaking 12 minutes per game with the starting lineup... with 3-4 people that are there to score. I don't think Sloan wants him to be Antoine Walker, and take matters into his own hands.

I agree with you, but he is making a lot of dumb decisions in his 12mins.

Miles isn't playing bad, he's basically fitting a spot on the floor, but he hasn't laid a negative impact. I wonder what's going to happen though when Harpring comes back. I'd really prefer to keep the rotation as is, and for Harpring to come in when we need a physical line up or w/e, but no more than like 10 minutes for him. I want AK to get atleast 30mpg if he's playing this efficiently, unless we're blowing teams out out night in and night out.

Well buddy, have it with luxury tax. Memo knows he has to accept his deal, and we all know that Boozer can get max money anywhere else in the league, including Miami. He is gonna demand to be paid big bucks, and this is gonna mean a huge blow to the Jazz. That is unless Miller wants to not get a cut of the profits of the league for this year, specially for keeping a player with which the Jazz don't have a very cemented chance.
I am still a proponent of a Dalembert/Kaman type of deal for Boozer, that would move Okur to the 4, and AK and Millsap help by committee on the 4. Did you see AK collapsing the defense when he held the ball playing as the 4?
Just so you notice today... +/-
Boozer = -3
Kirilenko = +24
Millsap = +24
Yeah, it is unfair, I feel the comment coming. Have at it... the previous game it was more like this..
Boozer = +9
Kirilenko = +28
Millsap = +18
The bench is meshing together, and Kirilenko is proving to be the only constant. When you look over in 82games.com, and you look at the top duos per team in +/-, you will notice that the top duo was Boozer/Kirilenko, not Boozer/Williams. As long as we keep looking solely at production, rather than accepting the complexity of the issue and the great value that Kirilenko's presence is to the team, we will continue to look in a tender light the cancer that Carlos Boozer is. Boozer isn't quite Randolph, not even close. But his defense hasn't gotten better, and he might prove to be too expensive, and empty of results for Miller to pick him up at a max contract.
Well.. I've said +/- doesn't really mean anything in terms of production before, but since we're going into completely irrelevant statistics, I'll go to my good buddy (and every Jazz fan's friend) John Hollinger's PER stats through all games so far this season. Check the rankings. Keep in mind, this is ranking every player that has played at least six minutes a game.
Rank Player PER
9 Carlos Boozer, UTH 29.44
20 Paul Millsap, UTH 25.12
26 Andrei Kirilenko, UTH 24.15
93 Ronnie Brewer, UTH 16.97
117 Kyle Korver, UTH 15.97
124 Mehmet Okur, UTH 15.67
224 Brevin Knight, UTH 8.69
239 Ronnie Price, UTH 7.29
255 C.J. Miles, UTH 5.20
So.. Judging by those numbers (which I think are just a tad bit more in depth than say, plus/minus) I would think that your best player on the floor right now is Carlos Boozer. Yes, Paul Millsap is the next best on the team but I'm still not convinced he could be a starting four yet, he's too undersized. Where am I going with this? Perhaps we let Memo walk after this year and use the money on Boozer. And quite frankly, saying his defense is horrible is a severe slap in the face. Watch the games again, for the most part his defense has been significantly improved. He's the one who is calling the defenses out as well to the rest of the team. Cut the guy some slack. Last season in the playoffs he dropped off, yes. This is a new season, and he looks better than ever.

So you're telling me you're not ticked by the fact we had our best quarter when he didn't play a signle second and we hold the Clipps to only 13 POINTS !!!?
Boozer did make some kind of improvements. But the rest of the roster improved much more than him and that help him a lot too , to cover his weaknesses.

Homer hater post of the night.
You cant say that Boozer being out is the reason we did all that in the 4th. LAC went ice cold in the 4th, couldnt hit a FT to save there lives and a Jazz player finally got hot offensively.
I am not saying Boozer is a good defender, but I think its unfair to judge him and give Memo a pass. Memo has been just as awful through 3 games.

Really ?
Jazz defense with Memo .. :
- On the court : 86pts scored against per 100 poss
- Off the court : 106pts scored against per 100 poss
Jazz defense with Boozer .. :
- On the court : 102pts scored against per 100 poss
- Off the court : 71pts scored against per 100 poss (!!)
Make the maths.
It's been only three games , but the difference is so huge that i don't think there is much room for doubts.

So it's all Because Boozer was out that LAC went Ice cold, and Milsap Had a career night?
Sorry can't quite grasp your logic.
Sorry that pig doesn't fly.
I remember Malone getting torched by Duncan repeatedly for 40+, I remember Stock getting lit up by quicker guards, I remember other role players having nights like Milsap did, Heck even harp has had a few nights like that. Where was all the hate for them? Boozer is an elite PF, I'm glad he is on the Jazz.
There are a **** of teams and fan bases that would love to have him.
But I guess the grass is always greener....................

I've liked Okur's defense these past three games, he won't ever be the guy sending shots away but he's doing a good job denying his man position, his rotations are better, but he still needs to work on boxing out, as illustrated in the Clippers game. Boozer's rebounds are a big help defensively but he needs to spend time with somebody so he can learn to use his footwork on defense. Boozer's been great these past games and if it weren't for him and AK everyone on here would be bitching and moaning.
