Don't believe the printed report that the Blazers have "offered only" (only?) Travis Outlaw to Memphis for point guard Mike Conley, Greg Oden's running mate at Ohio State.
Management of the Blazers and Grizzlies haven't discussed such a trade. I don't think Kevin Pritchard is looking to move anybody right now, but he surely has enough sense to get more than that for Outlaw, if a deal is made. -- The Portland Tribune

have you seen Conley play? he is getting beat out by kyle lowry... he has shown nothing to warrant the status at which many overrate him.

i would not do that trade either. i would package Outlaw with someone for Hinrich.

As horrible as Conley might be looking, he's worth way more than Outlaw. Everyone knows the Blazers want to move him (they just extended Webster and they're really high on Batum) and IMO at best they'll get a late first rounder for him. Plus Memphis already has Rudy Gay. Why on Earth would they want Outlaw?

The only reason I'd do the trade is to have a real PG running the point. They as might well run Fernandez at SF instead of Outlaw. But I think Outlaw is good, and can become even better.

That's the point. Conley has had his issues, but he is going to be a starting quality NBA PG at the worst, that is evident. Seeing as how that is Portland's only true weakness roster wise, I'd say giving a borderline starting SF who has probably peaked for a guy whose basement is a decent starter--with the upside to be a star--at a FAAAAAAR more valuable position would probably slightly favor Portland.

But hey, maybe I'm crazy, eh?
