Per Yahoo, Gerald Wallace is available. As most of you probably know, I've been lobbying for a Lamar Gerald Wallace trade for years now. I don't think there would be a better fit in the triangle at 3, and a "pippen" to Kobe's Jordan than Lamar. Please God let this happen.

"As for the Bobcats roster, Larry Brown talked Michael Jordan out of trading forward Gerald Wallace over the summer, but that hasn’t stopped him from shopping him in the preseason, sources say. Charlotte was hoping to showcase Adam Morrison enough in the preseason to find a taker for him."

Imagine:

Fisher
Kobe
Wallace
Pau
Bynum

I think I just blue balled myself thinking about this lineup.

Lamar might actually be a great fit for MJ's Bobcats.

And I believe that is MJ's team.. he's got a lot of authority over decisions.

Two concerns about G-Wallace:

1) durability
2) outside shooting

But his defense/rebounding makes up for it all. :D

Cant say that I am a big fan of group trade thread ideas, as it seems to wholly consist of different trades and very little discussion about the trades proposed. Sounds like an idea dreamed up by a lazy mod to me

But here it goes anyway:

Lakers trade Lamar Odom and Ariza
to
Milwaukee for Michael Redd

To me it makes tonnes of sense for both teams with the Lakers looking stacked at every position bar a legit sharpshooter with size ala Glenn Rice of times gone by.

Redd would be happy to defer to Kobe his Team USA buddy while probably making LA a lock for the ring. Imagine a line up of:

Bynum
Gasol
Kobe
Redd
Fisher

To me this would be the perfect balance for a NBA teams starting 5.

The Buck in turn get the perfect Power forward to pair with Bogut, a man who would be underused off the bench and not really needed at LA, while Ariza is an athletic 3, who has a chance to start over Alexander at SF.

Decreasing our defense isn't really what we should be looking at right now IMO. Our offense is probably best in the league already. Time to look for some stoppers instead of more scorers.

It's almost a lateral move b/c Redd isn't a defensive stud, among other things.

I like his talent though.

Greetings Laker nation, Heat fan here...as much as i love Marion, the bottom line is that if he continues to believe that he is worth the money he has requested, he will be either traded or let go (most likely traded so it wnt be for nothin). And if any team will pay the price for him, itll be either be LA, NY, or DAL, among others.

So what would it take to bring in Lamar Odom and Jordan Farmar for Marion and (filler)??? Feel free to fill in the peices to make a trade work.

Marion expires soon.. so no.

Besides, LO/Farmar is worth more to us than Marion.

But it would be an interesting trade.. nah, forgetaboutit.

Did somebody really just say to trade Jordan Farmar and Odom for Marion??

I'm new around here and I hope this isn't the type of thinking that dominates this board. That's ridiculously bad for the Lakers. So we just make due with Derek Fisher full time as the only PG on the roster? Farmar, who's shown considerable growth from last season to now is just a throw in player to make numbers work? That was a terrible idea.

^welcome to RealGM and nice post

Most of us on the Laker board know that Odom is better than Marion. its the Heat fans that think Marion is worth both Odom and an up and coming point guard

For me when the defense gets tough, via zone collapsing, you need some one who can shoot and take it to the hole. Lamar couldn't last year, Fish has trouble finishing and Vlad just can't dribble versus a stand still one on one defense. Kobe can unless all 5 guys decide to take the lane away w/ their tight zone. They need that wing player that can score the ball to make things happen.

The Odom on the bench thing is not helping him or the Lakers he is a valuable piece that needs to be moved.

Keeping in mind that the Lakers are trying to stay at around 78 million next yrs I assume, by giving Andrew the big raise. Plain and simple Vlad has to go to the bench and Ariza is not the answer hitting big shots or playing D, and Sasha just don't have the dribble drive to the line needed when he gets played tight.

Bynum is gonna make a big difference but he won't be a huge playoff factor this year on the offensive end.

My dream guy would be Rip Hamilton he is 6-7 and a great shooter and so smart just creating his own shoot, not to mention he is the best 2 pt j shooter in NBA. As well his defense on Paul Pierce last yrs was very underrated, much better than Ty Prince's was IMO.

The why factor for the Pistons they get a big man that can rebound and run w/ Stuckey and AI. And like AI, Rashweed, Lamar is free agent next yrs. A total savings around 45 million towards the cap. Then they still have Stuckey, Maxiell and Prince and pieces for the future w/ opitions to resign the vetereans if the work out to lesser deals.

A new revamped lineup of AI, Stuckey, Sheed, Odom and Prince would be very nice w/ Maxiell, the sixth man.

The Lakers would be also be so much harder to stop Kobe the number 1 opt has Gasol as his number two right now but Bynum might not be ready for a role as number three rightnow. Rip would be perfect w/ only one yrs remaining after this at a 11 million dollar price tag.

Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol and Rip be the sickest 5 in NBA.... Kobe and Rip going against PP and Ray wouldn't be close. I'd just hate playing Boston, NWO or Houston for that matter w/ Bynum in foul trouble in the playoffs. Pierce, KG and RAy allen, Paul, WEst and Posey, T MAc, Yao and Artest....

The wing has to be addressed for sucess and if the Pistons want to tear it down I think the Lakers should be going for the gusto w/ a big move to add an off the dribble and shooter in RIp w/ very underrated D....

Hey, Bulls fan here, is there any chance you guys would look to move Gasol? I think a deal built around Hinrich+Deng+Thomas for Gasol+Vujacic would make logical sense for both teams. So, can a deal be had?

The only two fits I see for Lamar at this point would be these guys.... Rip Hamilton and Stephen Jackson...

Rip Hamilton at 6-7 30 yrs old.

33.7 mpg, 17.3 ppg, 4.2 ast , 3.3 reb, 48.4 fg %, 83.3 ft %, and 44 % from three...

Stephen Jackson 6-8 30 yrs old

39.1 mpg, 20.1 ppg, 4.4 reb, 4.1 ast, .405 fg %, 83.2 ft% and .363 free three...

Rip makes 10.5 mill this yrs and 11.3 next. S Jax makes 7.1 this and 7.65 nxt

Both these guys can shoot from the outside and get to the line and make free throws and finish. Not to mention their defense at the three is very underrated IMO....... The other two guys out their that I've heard rumored is Marion and Al Harrington.... not good fits--w/ Marion you get an open court player that can't get his own shoot by dribble drive and his 3 pt shooting not great. As for Al Harrington--just to inconsitent some nights he looks amazing and other nights he dissapears.

And if their was an all Warriors team I think both Rip and S Jackson would be on the roster they are just guys that give it all every night and get it done in more than one way.
