League Pass & Arizona blackout

Post#1 » by impulsenine » Thu Nov 6, 2008 4:40 pm

HI EVERYBODY, it's been a while. :)

Now that the election's over I'm getting back into Suns basketball. We must have something to obsess over, yes? And I signed up for the free preview of the League Pass. It looks great, if I only want to watch other teams. Every Phoenix game is listed as unavailable due to blackout.

I live in Tucson, and I don't have a TV (long story) so I was all kinds of excited by the prospect of watching the games... but it looks like it won't happen. Am I missing something? Is there a way around this? If I spend the $80 (ouch) do I get around the blackout? Or am I stuck with crappy Chinese feeds?

Impulsenine, how've you been man?

I went over to a friend's place yesterday(she has DISH) and I was able to watch the game with the free preview going on, and I'm in Tucson as well, so I'm not sure what's up.

You crazy kids coming up for "Destination Phoenix '09"? We need another 2 for the pick up game, and make sure you get your tickets to the Suns Kings game.

Imagine that lineup sitting together at Suns v Kings, we'd blow the top off US Airways!

Lets do it guys!

I don't think she signed it up, it just appeared in her channel guide around the PPV area(channel 520ish I think). This might be the last weekend they're doing it, so check it out. Hope it works!

great thanks ill look into it... also this might be a little delayed on my part (but i wasnt a member of realgm yet) but were some people still interested in seeing the pics from the scrimmage game? i was sitting right behind the bench next to Al Mccoy and Tim Kempton and got some decent pics. i gotta tell ya paying 6 bucks for a ticket to see the suns courtside is incredible! perks of being a UA student i guess. :D

Re: Dish - I have no dish. This is online-only preguntas. My TV is PAL format -- I can't watch broadcast TV at all (it's still nice for watching movies but this keeps me from watching TV. I have enough trouble staying productive with the amount of time I spend on the Internet).

Basically I'm not seeing a way to watch the games online via NBA Broadband in Tucson, at least not in the preview version. But I wonder if I buy it I can watch?

I planned on doing a thorough reading of the Destination Phoenix plans later today so I can make my own plans accordingly. It's something I plan on doing. I'm also working on my jump shot, which is actually decent now, but I can't run for five minutes (nevermind 40). Once plans are shored up a bit, I'll hopefully take it as a good reason to get into shape, being the hypercompetitive type.

I must've been about three feet away from you - I was right in the middle, behind the loud high school chicks.

Free preview blocks all local games. Have to buy League Pass to get SUNS games... or hook up to a non arizonia internet provider.
