If we did your deal Jeff I would force the Warriors to also send the Nets Marco Belinelli (and would try to replace the Nets conditional 1st rounder with a second or something of the sort).

Wow.
Just horrific.

Sean Williams and an expiring should seriously be enough, at worst a conditional 1st aka protected beyond belief.

If we trade Brook, we better get a legit, big time, big man back.
He hasn't proven himself yet, but he has legit size and has more upside then Greg Oden IMO.

Yeah Chris, I'd expect more from a guy who gave me his autograph when I was 10 when you were playing in the Jersey Shore Basketball League one summer. Shame on you!

I can't see how in the world we could use Harrington. He's not a SF.

Awful. Like others have said, Brook Lopez should be one hundred percent off limits.

It's perfectly okay to say no to dealing Brook in a deal for Al Harrington - as a matter of fact, you're all probably right.

I like Brook a lot (who wouldn't) - but please do not label anyone on this team as untouchable. That's ludicrous.

You're right, no one's untouchable when you're talking about dealing for Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Amare, Paul, Deron, Howard, etc..

But since Harrington's the one being mentioned...

Like Jeff stated, ALL of our young players (minus Ager and Sean now) are completely off limits to any team unless we're basically bringing in a legit player we few as "part of the future of the organization." I like Al a lot, but he'd be a rent a player to take some scoring pressure off of Vince and we'd let him take a stroll in 2010. They may be able to get Sean from us now, but there are PLENTY of untouchable players on this team. Just because we're bad doesn't mean everyone is tradeable.

I feel perfectly fine labeling Brook "untouchable" when in the context of trading for Al Harrington.

As a (rather board) GS fan, I would add that while that's good value for Al, GS really doesn't need the extra post players (especially an extra young guy like Williams), but does need PG help. Some 3 team deals that come to mind if NJ thinks like this (give or take cheap filler to balance roster spots if necessary).

NJ trades: Sean Williams, Swift, Hassell, GS's conditional 1st for Harrington, Belinelli
GS trades: Harrington, Belinelli, Marcus Williams for Felton, Swift, Hassell, own 1st back
Char trades: Felton for Marcus Williams, Sean Williams.

or

NJ trades: Sean Williams, Swift, Hassell, GS's conditional 1st for Harrington, Belinelli
GS trades: Harrington, Belinelli, Marcus Williams for Watson, Swift, own 1st from NJ, 09 SAS or 10 Phoenix 1st from OKC
OKC trades: Watson, 09 SAS 1st or 10 Phoenix 1st for Marcus Williams, Hassell, Sean Williams.

Looks like right now we're trying to find a 3rd point guard too. I love Belinelli but he can't play the point.

lol we also gave you a pg this offseason. you're welcome.

But in all seriousness, I would be fine with those deals if the Nets brass pulled the trigger. I love Belinelli, we can just complain about Harrington for 2 years because we'll still lose with him, and we free up a roster spot for eddie gill or Julius Hodge so they can wear a suit until DH or Keyon get hurt. We're still a lottery team, got some more cap room, and a young guy I like a ton. Whatever.
