I mean we can talk about tax policy and what not all day long, but the invasion of Iraq was 100% unrelated to 9-11.

WRONG DELANEY, I'm a democrat but I have to call your bull on this one.

Bush and his cronies only went into to Iraq to dismantle the Iraqi's and their WMD's. And let me be the first to say THANK GOD we did that, we have yet to be hit by any WMD's. And sure, you can go off with your liberal media machine and left wing conspiracies but I have no doubt that there are infact WMD's north, south, east or possibly west of the key points of deployment. I mean, they gotta be there somewhere don't they.

Then, lets move on to this Mr. Barack HUSSEIN Obama guy. For one thing, how did this idiot ever even get considered for presidency. Sure he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law, and yes he was the first black president of Hardvard's law revue at the age of 28, and maybe he was teaching Law at the University of Chicago when he was 31 years old, but honestly, is that really impressive?

I mean, the guy doesn't even have executive experience, and more importantly, he's made his career off of pillow talk issues like Civil Rights, ending poverty and fighting for American's losing their jobs overseas. Why doesn't he dare taking on a real life issue like I don't know... making sure wealthy bank chairman don't go to prison for failure to regulate savings and loans and report losses. Doesn't he realize the personal gain's he can get out if, there are all kinds of free vacations you can get out of that. If Obama was really intelligent he would learn how to break the laws in order to make personal gain. Plus, who cares about the public anyways, especially when your campaign is benefiting from your lies and underhanded dealings.

Come on Obama, get with the program you weak unintelligent fool.

:usa:

Give me a break. Unintelligent? He went to Columbia University and Harvard Law School. You aren't exactly unintelligent if you go to those schools. Did you listen to speech? The words, the delivery, it was amazing.

Also I knew someone whose name is Hussein, and he looked as American as anyone I've ever met. Does it really matter if you're Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Athiest, etc..? It's the president, not the pope.

BTW:

Harvard has been ranked #1 consistently through recent history, often in the world too. It's currently ranked #1.

Columbia is ranked #8, and it's always a top 10-20 ranked school nationwide.

These numbers are according to US News & World Report: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandrevie ... nal-search

I know you mentioned you said you were Democrat, but I was thinking, maybe you were a conservative Democrat, and maybe "feared" that Obama was Muslim, and believed in the "terrorist connections" that McCain was accusing him off.

Yeah, like the people who claim "I'm a life long Democrat but..." usually means they voted for George Wallace in '68.

Obama won in Summit county. I think Park City is the little oasis of rationalism in Utah.

It's kind of funny to go through this thread and see which posters are Obama supporters, and I see a little trend of coolness that seems to jive with that distinction.

We have spent 8 critical years spinning tires in the mud with executive puppet clowns and a band wagon voting public herd marching in rhythm to the beat of talk radio hosts banging their cream puff gavels and whispering fearful lies in our ears.

America has been a disgrace to the modern world and it's complete default to blind idealism and lack of critical thinking and balanced judgment shows how easily we can lose everything we have gained in the last 50 years. I think the Obama win is going to be that catalyst that drives old and tired McCarthyistic rhetoric that has found new life in the current and unidentifiable GOP back into the closet where it belongs. I also think the Obama win is going to redefine the GOP where the speakerphone flag wavers with Roman crosses tattoo'ed on their foreheads are pushed to the back of the crowd and a new GOP that caters to youth with Goldwater liberalism comes into play.

So all of you Utards should be wary that your band wagon is losing momentum, and the time to jump off is soon, or you will be stuck with the Palin's of the world who think Mormons should burn in hell.

HammerDunk wrote:Wow, that was a pretty intelligent post there... People seem to forget that Bush was only president for just under 2 years when that happened. Not something any president would have to deal with. And as for all that terrorism "bull", it's easy to say that now, but when that was going down, everyone was wanting to beat someone down for it. I'm not hailing Bush as a good president or anything, but I have a hard time seeing people say how evil he is. I don't think he is evil, if he was he would have done a lot more than what he did. I'm sure your media wants you to believe that he was evil.

I don't think Bush is evil and I'm pretty sure the media here doesn't either. However I do question some of his decisions, just like I'm sure most of the Americans do too. I know terrorism was a big issue during his administration, and I'm sorry if I made it sound like it wasn't a big deal. I know it was. But I also believe it was used as an excuse to do a whole lot of other things which didn't exactly help on the war on terrorism, like invading Iraq for example. You don't really make friends when you invade someone's country and push your freedom down their throats. BTW, it made me absolutely sick every time I heard Bush talking about freedom or how they were trying to win a war. It's like they are trying to convince the american people that they live in a fantasy land where there's a battle between good and evil and the good side must win the war against the forces of evil. Anyway, enough with my rant on Bush. Congrats for electing Obama. Just like most of you, I too, have high hopes for him.

I haven't been exactly a proud American these past 8 years, and I look forward with much hope for some progress. As of today though, I can say I'm happy to be American with our new President-elect, and I just hope he fulfills his promises. He seems like one of the most honest politicians I've ever seen though, and I have confidence in him. :-)

Great thread.

I too had lost my pride as an American. Dubya has been an absolute disgrace, and I'm looking forward too seeing our country turn it's image around. The fact that a majority of Americans chose the better man without letting things like skin color or middle names skew their viewpoint, makes me proud. Damn proud.

Man, I will be a proud American no matter who is our president. I may not have voted for Obama, but I feel there is some good he will do as President. I really hope things go well with him in office, we can use some good news in this country.

I would hate to work underneath you. I'd imagine if I didn't cure cancer and build a spacecraft for a manned Martian landing in addition to my other duties, you'd axe me and strip me of my benefits.

Just what is it that makes you so qualified to be President of the United States over Obama anyway? This I'd love to see.

EDIT: I see I'm late to the calling-out party, but I would really like to hear the rationale behind this nevertheless.
