Roy looked good against Cleveland, but he looked lost and overmatched against PHX. Rush has been the same.
The flashes of what you'll get when they are consistent are there, and they are worth the draft picks. They were good picks, but they both look particularly lost at times. Completely normal, but there's just no way we can complain about them this early in the season.
You expect them both to look like rookies, and they do. At times, they look like they don't deserve to be on the floor. At other times, they make a play that makes you go, Wow.

Re: Pacers vs. Cleveland 11/7
wow.
First time seeing Indiana this year and man was I impressed, no wonder ya'll laid a beat down on Boston. Young Granger ate LeBron James alive. That guy is 2xtimes the player he was when I last saw him.
I'm not a big TJ Ford fan though. He's a horrific defender and overrated as a playmaker. But the roster looks like it only needs a little bit of touching up. As Hibbert (had a very rough night) and Rush develop they will get more minutes and Dunleavy's return will help.
In my eyes you guys just need a big who is talented offensively and a replacement at PG then time to develop. A big more importantly than a PG because maybe things will work out with Ford in the long run. I've just never been a fan of his in the NBA.
It sucks that things didn't work out with Tinsley and JO because those are the type of players you guys need right now.

Your Anti-Ford bias must be very heavy if you think Tinsley would be an upgrade.
Ford is playing very well, and actually contributing very good defense. Significant upgrade over Tinsley.
JO is more complicated. He won games for us, He lost games for us. He wouldn't have just been a defending guy who scored when he was on, and didn't shoot when he was off.
So there's a little bit of value in subtraction. Especially considering his contract.
We are not one of the best teams in the league, but we are improving and are deep. I will be very happy with "fiesty", a team no team wants to play because we can run anyone off the floor if we get hot.

From what I've seen this is more than what I would label just a fiesty team. The Pacers could be a year away from being a contender in the east. They only need 1 or 2 players at the most and time for their youth to develop and get respect from the refs. I've only seen them twice now (the past two games), but looks like O'Brien is doing a good job over there. Indiana plays with intensity, I watch a lot of teams via league pass and not many teams play with more intensity than what I've seen the past two nights outta Indiana.
It's not a bias towards TJ Ford. I wish him well over there with the Pacers. I'm just don't think he's nearly as good as some people do. He's a solid backup PG, nothing more and has never been anything more than that his whole career.
Regardless I'm very impressed with Indiana.
