my question though, is this win indicative of the young nets decent potential? or more of the pistons trying to adapt to AI?

I think it was just indicative of the explosive talent Devin Harris can be on any given night. Iverson played reasonably well and within the Pistons offense, he also wasn't the reason players like Tayshaun Prince were **** out bricks, the credit for that has to go to the Nets defense.

I mean we have to be real though, it took a tremendous performance by Devin to beat the Pistons and even then it's not like the Nets won by much...

Hopefully Harris will build off his performance tonight. He's got a lot of work to do because he's looked like **** up until today.

Tough assumption on final score if you don't even know if Jarvis is playing.

Anywho.....

If Hayes plays, Pistons 102 - Nets 73

If Hayes doesn't play, Pistons 102 - Net 72

Seriously though, I'm predicting..............

Pistons 102 - Nets 93

Competitive game most throughout, couple runs for each team, Pistons lead most of the game, close to maybe around a 4-7 point lead late, late 4th, obligalatory fouls put the Pistons at the strip and boost the game to a 9 point Piston win.

Well, I'm being realisitic and it is a much better outcome then the abomination that was the Suns game.

I guess my assumption wasn't so tough after all lol

Harris needs to handle the ball. Frank needs to stop with the VC iso at the top of the key stuff.

Anyone who hasn't read this (it's kind of old) probably should:

http://coachingbetterbball.blogspot.com ... fense.html

From what I've noticed... Devin doesn't seem to be coming off all of the dribble handoffs strong / looking to attack the rim and that's what his problem has been.

I think one of the potential reasons for this is that Harris may be receiving the dribble handoff too close to the basket and just doesn't have the time to buildup the momentum that allows him to wildly attack the rim like he does in the open court.

If you noticed yesterday Harris really did his damage when he got the ball out high and started his attack from there.

When Devin starts his attack closer to the basket the driving lanes just don't seem to be there like they were last year (possibly a result of where the weakside big is positioned), and he'll end up having to settle for a jumper or initiating another handoff for someone else.

There were rarely any iso's for VC at the top and the few I remember he broke down Prince forcing Pistons help D to collapse to him which left Boone open for offensive put backs.

A lot of the play (which I previously mentioned I believe works better for this team) was pick & roll offense which Devin used his outstanding dribble speed to get to the paint at will & which VC used on left perimeter and top of the key to play 2 man game w/ Boone to great effectiveness.

I don't mind the 'Memphis offense' on occasion but frankly the Nets players don't move & cut enough. They seem to fit better using 2 , 3 man games of pick & roll offense.
