Skones and Red,

It is an undeniable fact that the Bucks management sucked last year. EVERYONE who had some intelligence had an issue with how players were being subbed so thoughtlessly at times (especially CV and Yi). If the Chinese fans were upset...It wasn't only them. As I recall you and Red were also frustrated with the organization at times as well.

To say that Nets need to DEAL WITH THE CHINESE posters is SAD and indeed racist.

I was raised up in titletown USA and went to school at both UWM and UW Madison. I'm not even Chinese but I had a hard time with the typical Bucks fans making racist comments like this then acting like it was innocent. You guys sound more like the Commies you hate so damnned much.

Give Yi fans a break for supporting their man just as you guys continue to support CV through 2 lackluster years, please. It's only fair that way.

As for dealing with Chinese Yi fans.... I got no problem with them. I have more problem with rabid delusional Bucks posters who continue to think they'll go far in the playoffs.
Someday I hope Milwaukee can win it all again but for now I won't kid myself while blaming foreigners for my pathetic teams disappointments.

Obviously there were some Chinese fans that were homer fans, but i dont like the generalization and not all a close minded people. I just dont like it when some people generalize by saying things like that.

Winged words.

They complained a lot, and implied that most of the bad words were poured by foreign fans by reminding Nets fans to DEAL with Yi's fans.

Probablely, they are not satisfy with the trade with Nets, for losing some hopes and struggling a lot again.

Yi is lucky to have lefted that place, and all Yi's fans leave the complaining board, but unfortunately Bucks fans like Redbgtcv feel a loss of identity and complain here, showing their stupid racism.

I never complained on bucks board when Yi was bashed there, like a coin, Yi has his two sides.

Criticism is helpful for Yi or a team to make progress, but is no helpful for Bucks, their fans like Red only like good words, which could push them to win the NBA champiomship in their mind.
People who could find happiness in simple life must be a happy one.

Yi is the most quick 7 footer in the world, no one of.

1. I WAS NOT being racist.
2. My posts were 100% accurate in that some Yi fans think player before team. Some American fans are guilty of doing the same thing.
3. When did I bash anyone for supporting Yi?
4. Since you go to UW and all, I suggest you do closer reading before lumping me in with those comments.

Did you mean 'since when did I go to UW'? In case you were wondering whether I am just a Chinese poser pretending to be as Wisconsinite--answer def is NO. I graduated from Preble High in Green Bay, Wis. Went to UW-Milwaukee in 1990 then transferred to UW-Madison pre Med in 1992.

I love buckybadger and am very disappointed by the pitiful year they're having. I watch Bucks from time to time but feel disenfranchised because of the crapppy management decisions. Had more curiosity because of the interesting pick of Yi and his potential. Was turned off by the bullying style of some of you on the Bucks board.

Question to you Skone and RedBogutCV: Why do you guys feel it necessary to chase down Chinese fans to this site and warn others of their supposed attitudes when they have been nothing but respectful thus far?

There were some stupid posts on the Bucks board last season by posters of all races. Let bygones be bygones.. Do you feel necessary to unite all American posters against Asians/Chinese or something?

Just one last word then you guys can embarrass yourselves all you want.

Anyone who defends comments like "You guys gotta deal with those Chinese fans all year  " thinking it isn't in anyway racist is in denial. Sad to say you go to UW but didn't learn much about racism or logic.

My props to President OBAMA!! Great Win for America!

Skones is a smart poster but that comment made by reddbogutcharliev that 'you gotta deal with those chinese fans' was very ignorant and had racial tendencies

Yi a legit talent?

Post#70 » by realfung » Sun Nov 9, 2008 7:43 am

Yi has been very inconsistent lately. Tonight he scored 2 points and grabbed 11 reb shooting 1-10.
I am not ttying to judge him by one game, but he can score from 2 points to 25 points night in and night out.

It is very hard to predict from him, I like Yi but I have to start doubting him as a legit star in the future.
Maybe he will be a Drew Gooden type of talent, who never played up to his limit. For now it is ok, but you can never talk about talent when you are like 4, 5 years as a pro.

Let's see what will happen this season.

i think hes legit. He is just moving too fast and thinking too fast. But you see the talent and when the game slows down for him, he could be a star.

Looks like Yi is learning though. Compensating on defense and rebounding when having an off-night shooting.

Dude everyone on the Nets is being inconsistent right now. I really don't think everyone has a grasp of this offense.

With that said, the kid is like 20 years old, but I like what I see. I don't see him as a superstar but I definitely think he's a legit talent. My major knock is that it looks like he has a hard time creating space because a lot of his shots seem to be contested shots. Once he learns that, he's gonna be great.

It's what, 5 games into the season.
Yi's 2nd season and he is a 20 year old Chinese immigrant in the spotlight, trying to fit in and probably not yet comfortable witth his environment.
And then on top of this he has the pressure of all of b ball watching China judging him and stressing him, on top of the NBA, especially Nets fans and cynical, "I told you so", Bucks fans.

Give him a break.

Plus he is stuck with one of the bottom 5 coaches in the league.

I am actually very pleased with his rebounding and defensive effort and desire.
If he keeps that up, the offense will come to him.
He has height, length and athleticism and what seems like good b ball IQ, things you just can't teach, along with an offensive repetoire that is limitless if he puts in the work and is properly taught and coached.

I have faith.

I don't know if he ever becomes a star, but I highly doubt he is a bust.

Don't know about smart But he sure likes to EDIT to make others look like they can't read.
Problem is he can't fess up to his original posts.
His original question was "Since you when to UW and all?".
How the hell you think I'm gonna respond?

Skone, you might mean well but be smart enough not to defend stupid comments in the future please.

Well seeing as how i plainly stated what I meant in my last post, it's pretty obvious I made a grammatical error. When you can see that I edited my post, it becomes even more obvious. Even so, you may be able to make out a grammatical error or two but you sure as hell can't comprehend the words you are reading.

When on earth did I say I agreed with RBCV? I simply tried to clarify what he meant with 'deal.'

Oh, don't even try to pass judgment on me. You've been here for what? A year? My body of work pretty much speaks for itself. As kobe once said:

“I don’t know this guy. I might have said one word to this guy. I don’t know this kid. I think he overreacts to stuff. We go out there, we play the game and leave it at that. Maybe he wasn’t hugged enough as a kid. I look at him a little bit, he gets a little insecure about something. I don’t know.”

I win, you lose, Yi talk only from now on.

And you're like one of those posters that doesn't read the entire thread, but acts like he knows what's going on anyway. I made no racist comments. The only comments that could be construed as 'racism' were made by RBCV.

And I didn't vote, for multiple reasons.

He has the height, athleticism, shooting touch, work ethics - factors in his favor.

But he also has a lot to learn and to improve in the mental part of the game (e.g., overall agressiveness and concentration), rebounding, defense, shot selection, post moves and protecting the ball going to the rim.

How much he develops also depends on how good his coaches are and how is being used (Kiki should be a good shooting coach, but his courrent head coach(!) and big man coach(!) are questionable).

So far in this young season, he is showing improvement in his defense , rebounding, and overall agressiveness, which is encouraging.

I do statistics only tells part of a player's contribution, but if his

rebounds + assists + steals + blocks - turnovers >= 11 for this year

and if this total increases by 1 per year in the next 4-5 years, he will be well on his way to be a solid contributor to the Nets and silent all the cynics.
