Bradley can't play CF, he can barely play a corner at this point. He's best as a DH.

I love living in a fantasy world, too. Nothing like having a $400M payroll. Might as well put Manny in instead of Ethier and Johan Santana in for Marquis

Quick Steps:
Step 1 Trade Alfonso Soriano, Ryan Theriot to New York Mets for Daniel Murphy, Luis Castillo, 1 SP prospect
Why?: We dump Soriano and save us money (going to get another power hitter) and get a decent prospect (Murphy) and maybe Castillo can be worth while.

Line-up
1. Rafael Furcal SS
2. Mark DeRosa RF
3. Aramis Ramirez 3B
4. Bobby Abreu RF
5. Derrek Lee 1B
6. Geovany Soto C
7. Mike Fotenot 2B
8. Felix Pie CF

Bench
C Henry Blanco
1B Micah Hoffpauir
2B Luis Castillo
OF Daniel Murphy
OF Willy Mo Pena

SP Jake Peavy
SP Carlos Zambrano
SP Rich Harden
SP Ted Lilly
SP Jason Marquis

CP Kerry Wood
RP Carlos Marmol
RP Juan Cruz
RP Arthur Rhodes
RP Angel Guzman
RP Neal Cotts
RP Chad Gaudin

I'd be willing that with the "pending" sale of the Cubs and with his performance in the playoffs the Cubs will trade Soriano to any team that would want him. Problem is that who in their right mind would? I think Cubs fans should just get used to the fact that Soriano will be with the Cubs for the extent of his contract (shudder now).

The Cubs will more than likely not be able to sign any major free agents this year, unless they can find a sucker for soriano...but like I said, that won't happen.

So the only way I see the Cubs improving is via the trade market or by getting lucky the way they did with Edmonds and Reed.

I also don't think the Cubs have nearly enough resources to even think about getting Peavy, unless they decide to trade Soto, which isn't going to happen.

In other words, I think that you'll basically see the same team next year with the exception of maybe the 2B and/or SS positions. Dempster will be back and the rotation will basically be the same with the exception of maybe Marquis.

Basically, I don't see much happening this offseason.

please the line-up looks great except for Dunn. there is no way that we can have dunn and soriano in the same outfield. Bradley that head case? come on man we dont need that guy with Lou who will probably the first day tell him his ass stinks and that will be it for him Derosa is the rightfielder if we get roberts

1. Furcal SS
2. Roberts 2B
3. Pujols 1B
4. Aramis 3B
5. Soriano LF
6. Dunn RF
7. Victorino CF
8. Soto C
9. Pitcher

Cardinals feel bad for us so they give us Pujols for Fukudome and Blanco. Phillies give us Victorino for Sean Marshall.

The Cubs will not pursue Furcal because they probably feel that Theriot is better. I want Adam Dunn but I think Raul Ibanez is more realistic.

^ I can't honestly say Koskue is better than a #8/platoon OF at this point. The guy hit like .200 for four months. And 4-5 of that rotation is guys who have injury problems. I want Peavy and Johnson here, but I would also keep Marquis because you will need him at some point.

I don't think we deal Vitters. I think Roberts is almost impossible to acquire with Angelos man crush on him. I would love to make a play for McLouth. Not sure if Pittsburgh is ready to deal him yet.
