McGrady is going to make 23 Million next year

Post#1 » by Guy986 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 7:18 pm

What are the chances of him staying with this team after his contract is over?

Unless Tmac is willing to take a MASSIVE paycut,(and by massive i mean a current Steve Francis like salary)I don't expect to see Mcgrady donning a Rockets jersey post 2010.

I'll like to see half of Mcgrady's 20 some million dollar contract going to Artest. And then use the other half to sign an up and coming star player. I still expect us to contend for a championship this year but beyond that.... I don't know.

What kind of decline will we see in Mcgrady's game another year older, another year slower? We'll be a major player in the 2010 free agent extravaganza. That i'm certain of.

Marbury is making 21.9 million this year by sitting at home
maybe we should trade T-Mac for Marbury expiring contract

PS
if Artest can't show he can play with Yao then there's no need to re-sign him

But if Yao can't show that he can go back to playing basketball at a high level, i'm not so sure he'll stay a Rocket in the foreseeable future. He'll be here atleast till 2010 for sure.

1st. A few bad games doesn't mean his career is over. Rip Hamilton had 3 points last night and the JUST gave him an extension. T-mac needs to rest some I do believe, but I also think by the deadline he will be just fine and be back to the Tracy we know and love.

2nd. Why is everyone freaking out 6 games in to the season? Didn't we do about the same thing last season ad barring injury who knows how far we would have gone. RELAX PEOPLE! No need to suggest trading MCGrady for Marbury's contract.

3rd. Artest is NO Tracy McGrady. Getting rid of McGrady because we have Artest now makes zero sense. T-mac himself said it takes 6-8 months before you are completely healed from the surgery he had. It's only been 5 months. He's far from 100%. If there's anyone to worry about it would be Yao. What the hell is going on with him lately?

From a financial standpoint, if things don't work out for the Rockets' on the court this season, I'm thinking bye bye Battier, Artest, and McGrady.

I expected them to lose, but not blown out of the arena by 30 points.

You haters , you all will jump right back on the bandwagon when he egts his quickness and explosivness back in a month or two and we start clicking.

Why would we get rid of Battier? He has like 3 years left on his deal. And we would probably not get anything good in return. But I agree if we somehow struggle on the court we can say bye bye to Ron and possibly T-Mac. Then we would have to start rebuilding again. :(

C''mon guys it's way too early to be talking about this stuff. We still got 76 games to go. If Tmac is still playing like this by the end of the season then we'll talk.

I'm just being realistic. How much are you going to pay Tmac in 2 years when he's averaging about 14 pts, 3 rb, 3 assist on 42% shooting?

I'll rather throw the money at *gulp* Rudy Gay.

Ya thats quite realistic considering tmacs the best passer on our team,,,,and can score 20 points in his sleep. You assume the guy isnt willing to take a pay cut either,,,,he wants to win and i think hell take a pay cut. If we somehow win the championship this year id love to see all you tmac haters responses,,,,you would be begging the guy to resign for 23 million. Lets asses what were gona do with tmac yao and artest after the season,,,,,im already hearing fire adelman after he was a coach of the year nominee last year and has a 5-3 start only losses to champs, lakers, and a tough loss to blazers on the road

In 2 years, i dont think anyone will be begging for Tmac to resign for 23 million. I'll be more than happy to eat crow if that happens.

I am not talking to you about the money , I agree he will take a big paycut.
I was talking to all of those people who say he is done.

And even though he takes a paycut he will still get paid a lot if he wants to , he will be 31 or 32 and still have a lot left in the tank.

I expect him to take the veteran's minimum though if we don't win a championship.
