so did I![]()
...btw, why havent you joined our leagues?
I waste way too much time with fantasy basketball since I can tend to get so caught up in it. I normally only do two leagues a year with two different groups of friends but this year I basically consolidated the two leagues into one highly competitve one
gotcha...
...as SIC would say, your chicken just like enetric was...

Birth of the Cool wrote:so it looks like Devin won't play in Miami or vs Indiana...and maybe not even vs Atlanta. Fine by me. Long Season and no use playing a guy and having the injury linger. It's too bad their isn't a young PG that can take this opportunity to make a name for himself.
So the Dooling show for the foreseeable future (barf)
VC playing back up PG means once he's at the 1 he doesn't even look to score...because PG's dont score...uhm wait...
Simmons should start getting a shorter leash. Hayes while not having great #'s himself you can see watching the games he is more active on D and skying for defensive rebounds...just more energy all around. I also want to see Najera keep getting some minutes to see if his offensive rust is injury or he just sucks now but if Anderson takes Najera's minutes I'll concede it's better for the organization in the long run.
Who can contain Beasley...maybe the guy glued to the bench...
Frank is using pick & roll / screen offense more & more since he see's that outside of VC & Devin (maybe CDR & Yi) none of the other guys can breakdown their man since Memphis offense is predicated on penetrating & scoring/dishing/player movement & none of that is happening.
Seeing more & more Zone too.
yeh he's definitely out...I would sit him Wed too...they'll continue to list him day to day...I agree, I do feel Hayes is more active on the defensive end, Bobby needs to dial in his shot even more...always a fan of Najera all around skilled player who brings some toughness in the paint and with clearing the boards...
it can be frustrating when looking at your team's limitations...but guys need to make open or uncontested shots for us to have a chance in any game...
I personally would like to see Lopez get more minutes along with Sean William (doesnt have to be together...)...Frank, IMO, should not be shortening his bench with more injuries...

Re: Official Game Thread: Nets @ Heat (Game 6)
Sadly, I do not see the Nets winning this game without Devin Harris in the lineup. Attempting to fill the shoes of any starting point guard is a tough task, and Dooling doesn't fit the shoes too nicely.
A random thought of mine: would it really be that bad seeing the Nets do awful this year but show some rookie progression, and pull in a top draft pick for 2009? I know it sounds somewhat sacrilegious to even suggest this as a fan but having a top three pick from the draft for next year (assuming we do bad enough to warrant one that high) would only make our team incredibly stronger. And we'd be far enough under the salary cap to lure in some big free agents throughout the next two years.

CDR has a spraineed knee, unfournately, this would be a great time to play CDR, with Harris out
Dooling was given the keys to this team, and what does he do, not much, sure he had 17pts the other nite, but if u watched the games the stats dint tell it,he wAS horrible...

I hope Maurice Ager doesn't play, that's always a surefire sign that the Nets are going to lose.

Hassell is ridiculous. He got lucky with those 2 shots last game. Anderson should get the nod over Hassell.

Re: Official Game Thread: Nets @ Heat (Game 6)
Wade going nuts.
Carter with the atrocious turnover.
Frank is a straight up drippy disease filled quim and keeps Simmons in for 33 minutes, only pulled him because he has fouled out.
Even though he is having a very nice game, Dooling again shows he has no idea what the concept of team basketball and running the point is.
All he sees is the rim, a green light and hears the little guy in his head going, "shoot it. shoot it. screw that wide open Carter guy and that punk Boone wide open in the lane.".

Re: Official Game Thread: Nets @ Heat (Game 6)
Let that one slip away.
Disatrous game, not a good sign when VC and Yi have very good games and we still lose.

Carter had 2 terrific passes to Simmons in the corner, Simmons missed both late in the game.

Re: Official Game Thread: Nets @ Heat (Game 6)
ouch..this one hurts. Nets in solid control, good ball movement, various players hitting their shot, Wade being controlled...Miami hit some late clock 3's throughout the game to keep it within single digits but Nets had it...
Props to Wade for stepping up in the 4th quarter while VC couldn't counter. I actually thought despite some big shots & big plays VC's decision making was getting worse as the game progressed. I can't fault him too much for Wade burning him because frankly he cannot defend Wade period & there were some slow rotations in Zone coverage when it was clear the plan was to funnel Wade baseline & away from the middle. However Wade took his team on his back & Vince didn't and he could have....I saw that forced pass to Boone coming a mile away & then that brutal pivot foot turnover...just...blah.
The positive story is obviously Yi who went crazy from 3pt land. He still needs to add more to his repertoire then relying on hot shooting hand - post game, dribble drive but he was on the glass & trying on D. Best player tonight. Now does he show up in Indiana...
Lopez's inability to play the high pick & roll w/ VC and his expected still immature post game basically stuck him to the bench. You can almost see thought bubbles when he gets the ball in the post too - too slow & methodical about it - overthinking...two turnovers just trying to initiate his post move is just awful - that's beyond rookie mistake that's just pathetic.
Najera looked completely scared to try & score out there (same deer in the headlights look Collins had). He's the vet..he should know better & I hope he kicks himself in the arse before the next game.
Boone...BOONE !! It's too bad Lopez played like such crap that Frank couldn't rely on him to simply play the pick & roll offense down the stretch.
Hate games like this...;sldjfpasdfu!$#.

oh and that bank shot 3 by Wade was so disgusting as a Nets fan. That shot should have knocked the bloody backboard off it's hinges it was so off...guess that's the great thing about the straight away 3.
Everytime the Nets could have kept the big pt cushion it seemed the Heat got a timely 3 or score to stay at 7.

Good game for Yi, but I'm surprised Sean Williams doesn't get any P.T. What the heck happened?
I would think as Yi develops his offensive game, Sean Williams would be a great compliment to him on the defensive end.
