To Many Missed Outside Shots

Post#1 » by Playermaker » Sun Nov 9, 2008 7:16 pm

Thunder need to pound the ball into the post Basketball 101 inside outside; establish a inside game put the defense in rotation and kick it out>> swing it>> skip it>> but dont just stand there and Shoot it....that is why thunder is last in scoring and last in FG%. Wilcox is a career 54% from the floor; if you watch he sets more screens per minute than touching the ball; that Westbrook and Durant, dont know or Dont understand what to do with a soild screen. its called Pick and Roll >>after the screen the big rolls to hoop, nah; dont feed the post let me hoist a bad shot. Now thats team work! Wow great job PJ

Yeah, I see what you're saying... I just don't think Wilcox is a great passer out of the post. The stat line that really gets me is Durant's free throws. He only got to the line twice tonight! I didn't see the game, but that line seems to say that he is not going strong to the hole and settling for jumpers. A good passer from the high post connecting to a slashing Durant would be very sweet indeed!

I was at the game... It really seems like everyone on the court is looking for Durant to be the star... except for Durant.

There is just no motion on offense AT ALL. Knocking down jump shots would help, but when it comes down to it, if nobody's moving, then the defense can just sit there on every offensive player.

Interesting. Thanks for the breakdown, wizkid77.

So how long before they start talking about axing PJ?

I really think that PJ is here for the year... and not because he's the best coach. I really think that the management has got the mentaility that they can put out crappy uniforms, logos, colors, coaches, and team in general... and since it's their first year (or two) in OKC, people will show up for the games. I think they'll let all the blame of these losses go on PJ and find a "savior" either this offseason or next. That's obviuosly all just opinion and has no factual basis at all...

Don't know why that dumbass is still coaching in the NBA. Dude and his coaching staff should've been fired after Denver dropped 160 on the Sonics
