Clippers: Bobcats suck

Post#1 » by CarolinaCash » Tue Nov 11, 2008 4:32 pm

Basically that's what the Clipper's Dunleavy is saying:

According to a report in the New York Post, the Clippers are interested in trading Chris Kaman.

The Bobcats have been active in trade talks to upgrade their club and are reportedly interested.

Sources say, however, that Charlotte has no one of consequence Mike Dunleavy desires.

The teams are believed to be looking for a third team to get involved.

Hopefully, we find a 3rd team to help us out bc the Clippers don't want any of our players. Our draft pick mistakes are starting to hurt......we don't have a lot of attractive pieces. Danny Granger (NBA's 4th leading scorer) and Brandon Roy/Rudy Gay would have made this team so much better.

If Toronto is that 3rd team and takes Wallace then we can have this team:

Felton/Augustin
JRich/Carroll
Morrison/Dudley
Okafor
Kaman/Mohammad

We would still need another power forward and in a perfect world I would rather Okafor play center cause he's a stiff but oh well.

Oh man, I'd take Kaman in a heartbeat. Wallace for Kaman. I'd even take Kaman over Okafor right now.

Wow, adding Kaman to our front line along side Okafor fixes a ton of problems. We wouldn't be adding finese or jump shooting, but we'd sure improve rebounding, blocking, and establish more of a post game.

If Okafor can go back to hitting that short bank shot then we'd be money up front. I'd also love to experiment with Ammo at the starting 3 with Wallace gone to see how well he does with more mins.

With a front line of EO50 and Kaman we'd still face the problem of quick/mobile 4's with range lighting us up.

True, but then those teams with quick/mobile 4's won't be able to rebound or post up against us like they can now. They also wouldn't be able to defend us down low.

They will after Kaman/Okafor get in foul trouble trying to guard them.

Obviously Kaman is a whole lot better than Nazzy, but I don't see an Okafor/Kaman front court working any better than an Okafor/Nazzy one because each combination will face the same struggles (positioning, spacing etc).

Dunlevey gave us the rejection anyway. Good to see they're at least looking around at quality guys though and not Eddie Curry. :)

2 is better than 1. For Example: 2 Laker girls are better than one.

I can't remember where to find nba shooting charts, but I thought Kaman and Okafor both had limited shooting range. Basically in the paint only. So that would make it easy to defend both. One tall guy could defend both at once.

If you guys are sticking w/ Okafor (which I'd imagine you are after resigning him), then someone like an Okur would suite you better then Kaman. This way you have finesse and bulk, range and rebounding, etc.

Okafor & Kaman would work no better then Kaman & Camby have in LAC. That is why there is trade rumors flying out of LA.

Don't make the same mistake LAC has by pairing two similar big men.

Agree about those two not working together. I do like Okur a lot and feel he would be a fine compliment to EO50. Not sure how much it would cost us, but I doubt they'd want Wallace, much less any combination of other players in a deal.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

By the way... I've watched a lot of Kaman. He's got his strong points, but the guy is less than the sum of his parts. It's weird watching him muff all the passes from Baron that Biedrins used to easily convert.
