The great thing about this team is that even when Pierce's game is off, we can win...case in point, DETROIT!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I'm watching this game again, it's too good, it's on now on csn, just when we start turning it around.

I was there last night, it was actually a pretty bad game the first half and much of the third quarter, lol. With that said, I DID expect the C's to come back and win. Also, I didn't realize how many points Pierce had at the time. Looked up at the end of the game and was sort of surprised. I kept thinking, 'Pierce is not getting any touches, get him the ball' and then he did.

sam_I_am wrote:So great to hear from Dr. Smith again! Drew the ire from many posters on this board for arguing tirelessly that Paul Pierce is an all time great Celtic, that he shouldn't get traded, and that he was the key to restoring this legendary franchise. And even when history proves him to be 100% correct and discredits those that got him so riled up in the first place, he is not allowed to post here. How can Celtics fans stand for this? How un-American is that?

Let Robert Smith come back!

I agree with this and what multiple other posters have expressed already. The mods should reinstate Robert Smith. After a year in exile he's probably learned his lesson. He knows he violated many RealGM rules by verbally assaulting detractors of Paul Pierce, and he has expressed remorse to me on numerous occasions. Despite the occasional outbursts he brought a lot to the board and if he's given another shot I'd imagine he'd be better behaved.

Preferably, not... I would prefer that Pierce doesn't have to go old school Pierce and the Celtics are dominating teams and not having to rely on him or to claw their ways back from a deep scoring deficit.

Fans of Pierce know full well of what he's capable of in a game or during the fourth quarter of a game. However, the point of acquiring a Garnett and Ray Allen was to help him in not having to shoulder the entire load of carrying a team. Boston's more of a team now and not an one-man show like some other teams in the league.

I get you... But, Boston shouldn't have allowed themselves to fall behind like that. It's tough when you've so many games so close together on the schedule and teams have extra motivation to defeat the defending national champions. It's tough. But, if you're a team that's supposed to be one of the best teams in the league. You're going to need to suck it up and dominate. You've the players to do so on defense. These slow starts will catch up to Boston this season. The heroics of a Paul or Ray on this team aren't always going to "save the day." But, it's nice to know you've a player(s) who are clutch. Or they earn their large salary.

The way I look at the Big 3, is that it creates more possible mis-matches, but you go with your best mis-match when the chips are down. It happened to be Pierce last night as it often does, but at other times KG, RA, even Davis and Powe have been the game-end mis-match to take advantage of.

Celtics have been down after the 1'st quarter in 6 of 8 games. I agree it's disappointing and troublesome for them to be trying the comeback so often. It drives up the minutes of the starters, drives down the development time of guys like Walker and Pruitt, and at some point some losses will result. Teams aren't always going to fall apart if they're given a boost of confidence at the start, as the Indiana game proved.

I agree, while it's nice we can go to that when necessary, we look better and win better when it's more balanced on both sides of the ball.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
