Solution to the Rockets Problems

I'd expect the guys who have been around on this board for a while to not be panicking. Every year we have a lot of promise, and every year we get off to a slow start. This team needs Battier to return, we have to figure out the rotation and build chemistry, and we still need a backup C. Last year we started 15-17, but we figured things out eventually. Just let Artest, Yao, and Mac figure out how to co-exist and things will be fine.

The only change that I've thought about is bringing Yao off the bench. If we had Deke or Mcdyess they'd be good options to start at C, but I guess we'll have to see what Dorsey can bring. If we kept our same starting lineup subbing in Deke for Yao, then we could let Mcgrady and Artest go to work early. Artest and Scola could provide low-post offense, and this would let Rafer be more of a point guard and less of a spot up shooter. We need the lane open so Rafer can penetrate more and shoot less. Then we could bring Yao off the bench to abuse the other team's backup C and let him get hot, and as the game progresses we'd have all 3 stars on the court together. A lot of people are hesitant to bench an all-star, but I think it might be a decent option.

But once again, don't freak out. It's going to take a while before this team gels. Don't forget we've already played Dallas, Portland, and LAL on the road as well as Boston at home in the first 7 games of the season. Give it time guys...

Also, don't worry yourselves about the defense. When our defensive anchor, Shane Battier, returns then things will fall into place defensively. We had a poor 4th quarter defensive showing against LA and Boston, but we've also had positive flashes against the Mavericks and we shut down OKC and Memphis. Granted, it is OKC and Memphis, but you've gotta take the positives where you can get them.

Seriously I don't know how people can overreact like this after only 7 games , and we won 4 of the 7.

We have been thorugh this before , T-Mac lazy games , Yao looking useless , slow starts and when it happens now people think the sky is falling.

We will turn it around , T-Mac will get healthier , Yao will improve , Battier will come back healthy and overall we will improve the team play.

I am not worried at all , not at this point , I believe we are going to be very very good and have a top 3 seed this year.

I predict we will be 13-5 or 12-6 at the end of November and the December schedule and the December schedule is much easier , only 6 out of 15 against playoff team from last year , 4 of those 6 are at home , we will be ok people just have patience.

Iono.... the idea of bringing an all star Center off the bench smells like panicking to me.
Its so ridiculous that











It just might work! Bring Yao off the bench. We need some mobility in our starting line up. That would also solve our scoring problem because then we can force feed Yao Ming in the post against bench players JVG style. I like it.

This guy speaks the truth. We had Hayes and Scola as the backup 5 last year and we only won 55 games.

^^ if im not mistaken mr.jvg, deke played last season..yeah! im a big deke homer super fan or whatever you wanna call it! because for me, deke is the only player that plays with passion, energy, enthusiasm and the desire to win..unlike those soft ass backup C's of yers.
