Because Boozer was so "PWNT" tonight, let's take a look at the stats.

Boozer: 19 Points, 16 Rebounds, 4 OReb's, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 0 Blocks, 2 TO's, 3 Fouls.

Brand: 13 Points, 5 Rebounds, 0 OReb's, 1 Assist, 0 Steals, 6 Blocks, 5 TO's, 4 Fouls.
Dalembert: 6 Points, 11 Rebounds, 2 OReb's, 1 Assist, 0 Steals, 2 Blocks, 1 TO's, 4 Fouls.

Yep.. I guess they totally PWNT him with the blocks.. I guess it's easy to overlook the fact that Boozer had as much production on the floor by himself as the starting 4 and 5 for Philly, one a max money player? If you want to call a player for being PWNT tonight, it would have been Deron since Miller lit him up, but I give him a pass since he's obviously not as quick as he normally is and hasn't played in almost a month.

Again with someone elses stats. Can you 100% explain to me how this statistical formula works?

Here I will just pull a Duiz and have someone else prove my point:

Carlos Boozer - 27.97
Andrei Kirilenko - 22.98
Paul Millsap - 18.15

yeah thats right I just quoted Hollinger.

Here is another one, called the sheik who does Deron like better-o-meter:

Brewer - +8
Boozer - +6
Miles - +5
Korver -+5
Millsap - +5
Price - +4
Knight -+4
Football player Matt Harpring-+4
Collins-+3
Kirilenko -+3
Koufos - +3
Almond -+2
Fessenko-+1

clearly this proves my point that Booz must stay.

Dude I am asking you the knowledgeable sports fan to tell me why AK or Millsap is better then Boozer to the point where we can kick him to the curb. I wont you to go beastly nerd and explain to me how +/- works and what it accounts for. Not go to 82games and have someone else do your work for you. You have done nothing to that fact.

Millsap is hardly as big as Brand. Elton Brand is very long with a crazy long reach. Millsap is literally a tweener. He's too big for a 3, and really to small for a 4 though he does make very good use of his body to offset that. A player like Bosh, Garnett, Duncan, etc would eat Millsap alive. He's a great player for us in this system though, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on him at all. I love Millsap and wouldn't trade him, but I don't think he is a full-time starter.

I don't know. I can see Millsap doing a better job on those guys than Memo or Boozer. His offensive game is not crazy good, but he's far from a liability. I could see him starting for a team and averaging something like 15 and 9 with good defense. I wouldn't be surprised if someone offerd him 1 or 2 million more tham the MLE.

I'm sorry, but if anyone thinks that Boozer could be replaced by Sap, you are only fooling yourself. Sap may bring some great energy off the bench, but there is no way ever that he is a 20/10 four in this league. You think Boozer fouls out fast, Sap will be even worse. His off the bench production is great for this team. He and AK are a formidable force for any 2nd team in the league to deal with. I think it is a brilliant setup, I'm glad to see Sloan decided to try something different with this lineup, because it is looking very effective.

Once again, all this Boozer vs AK/Sap bickering is complete nonsense. No reason to start up crap with each other over it. I am very happy with how the Jazz are playing, and especially with a 6-1 record. Deron will warm up and look alive in games to come, so we will get even better. This is going to be a great season!

Boozer is 3rd in the league in rebound with 11.7rpg! Only behind Biedrins and Howard, but those guys are monsters on the board getting over 14 a game.

I think one thing that is misunderstood is that defense is a team effort, not a 1 on 1 effort. Boozer is a very bad team defender, as is Memo unfortunately. 1 bad team defender is ok if the rest are good, but 2? That's not going to cut it. I feel like the team is flatout better if Memo or Boozer is out of the lineup. Both of them in at the same time is a defensive nightmare. It has nothing to do with the individual value of each player but rather the cohesiveness and ability of the TEAM to play defense.

I hope we keep Boozer, because Millsap is a great luxury off our bench, but I fear that the owners might not be so inclined to go so deep into the luxury tax. Remember, Williams will be getting 8.7 million more next year, Okur will definitely make more than 9 million next year, make 12-13 million. Boozer is only getting 11.6 million, next year he'll be getting over 16.5 million if he gets the max. Millsap is costing us about $800,000 this year, it's going to up atleast 7-8 million. It's going to be difficult to retain everybody. Like some have said, a lot rests on how far this team goes.

I'm surprised Collins didn't start. With his injury miraculessley healing.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

It hasnt healed. He is still injured, he is just suiting up so we have "12" players. He will go back on the IA list when Fes gets back.

What a game tonight. When I got there they had 17 listed on the scoreboard with the starters, I thought that Williams might not play, but when he came out in the Jazz warm ups I was so fired up. Sixers played good D to start the game and for much of the third quarter too. Man, they missed a lot of easy layups and shots inside early on. Philly fans hate Iggy, at least tonight. Why the hell was he handling the ball sometimes, then shooting J's?

Brewer was THE MAN in the fourth. Seriously scoreless then he explodes for 16 points. I was loving it.

Brevin Knight also continues to impress. He came in for a strugging Williams in the third and did very well, even defensively with a steal or two. Can't say enough about the bench tonight.

Koufous didn't to too bad, nice block, couple of buckets, felt bad for him after he turned the ball over on the first play, but he should get some more burn tommorow.

KK 1/6 from downtown in his return. When he made his only 3 the 76ers PA announcer said 'Double K for 3" and the crowd booed. I think they were more pissed at the PA guy for saying that like he used to say it when KK was on Philly.

Fired up about the win, I expect DW to play tonight but not as much as he did against Philly. We shouldn't need him as much anyway against the winless/injured Wizards.

6-1 Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, you got it..

http://82games.com/ilardi2.htm

Carlos Boozer
Offensive +/-: +1.97
Defensive +/-: -1.95
Overall: +.02
---
Andrei Kirilenko
Offensive +/-: +4.28
Defensive +/-: +1.94
Overall: +6.22

Paul Millsap
Offensive +/-: +0.03
Defensive +/-: +0.75
Overall: +.77

Millsap sure shows to have the short end of the stick in this duo, but their joint production proves far better than simply Boozer/Okur.

I took my break and lunch to watch the Jazz game, I am busy right now darn it. And yes, I did watch it, and crap I don't have time to make a good argument.

Well you sure are wasting a lot of time making a bad one. And since when is rebounding not a part of playing defense? The Millsap-AK duo is great and part of what makes us a great team. Our team is better with Boozer starting and Millsap and AK coming off the bench. We wouldn't be as good without Boozer, without Boozer we don't have the amazing depth that saved us from being 1-6, without Boozer we don't have the number one offense in the league, and without Boozer we are not an elite team. Seriously dude it's time to shut the hell up.

Duiz, dude....please, just stop with that crap, man. Its not convincing anyone of your point. If you have any interest in getting someone to come over to your side, quit posting +/- stats and start making the argument for why it is a valid measuring stick for individual quality of play.

To me, its too ambiguous to rely upon, and doesn't match up with my own personal observations in any way at all. It shows no steady gradient, no consistency and there are faaaar too many instances where it just doesn't measure up to reality.

What is funny to me is the fact that we have been vastly improved on defense this season, and no one is giving Carlos any credit for that fact. The dude has earned major points in my book. He isn't breaking as many rotations, he is exerting more effort defensively, and is actually jumping to contest shots with a modicum of regularity. It has blown my mind.

The Jazz have been a top 5 defensive team so far this year, or at least close to it, and his improved play is a big part of the reason why. Quit bitching and enjoy the view, man.

Sometimes you just need Boozer to cancel someone out, and in the playoffs is Boozer scores 25, and Gasol scores 25, then I will call it good.

His defense isn't great, but if you can't stop him it's all the same. And what Boozer does is allow the Jazz to have a stud like Millsap coming off the bench. Until you can find me a better line up then Boozer/Millsap at PF, I'll keep it.

Boozer is also a nasty ass rebounder, his rebound rate is great.

That's actually pretty cool. Of course the fans wouldn't be happy with it, but it's cool that they welcomed him back like that.

I got there very early and sat in the resturant inside the arena and there were soooo many girls wearing Korver jerseys, only a couple of them were Jazz jerseys though. Wonder if they like his new look? He got some cheers when he came into the game but once the crowd heard the cheers they quickly booed (who the hell cheers the other team anyway?).

geez, that reminds of the rocky mountain revue game i went to where the guy from USU played with the nets, he got tons of cheers. i made sure everyone around me that game knew that i hated everything not wearing a jazz logo on their chest.
