Fantasy Help...A concern with Nash

Post#1 » by jassous » Sat Nov 8, 2008 10:29 pm

I just traded Tony Parker for Steve Nash. I know Nash has been struggling lately, but I hope he helps my team greatly. TP got injured last night so I thought bringing in Nash would be good either way. Can anyone tell me more about his struggles...and bring my hopes up about the situation. Thank you.

I think you'll have trouble finding someone here who will tell you that:

13.7 pts, 8.5 asts, 51.8% FG, 56.3% 3PT

is struggling. I mean, he will see slightly less minutes so you can expect minor declines in the points and assists categories from last season, but he is looking mighty fine from my perspective.

That's true. Do you think he's worth more than Parker, in a fantasy stand point?

I think his 3s and ft% is enough to keep him above Parker. Not to mention 2-3asst more per game, and the time Parker's missing.

In roto leagues, he fills more stat cats than parker ever will.
Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

I don't know guys, I hate to say this being a Suns fan, but Nash's fantasy value isn't first round value anymore. First 2-3 games were good, but being last in turn overs, STR, and A/TO in a rottisserie league is NOT what you want, and Wade and Nash give you that. The turnovers kill everything, especially when he's averaging less than double digit assists and isn't over 15 points yet. I had picked him with my 7th pick, and ended up trading him with Josh Howard for TJ Ford, Jose Calderon, and Emeka Okafor :D

Some seek fame cause they need validation, some say hating is confused admiration - Nasty, nasty Nas

Well you made an awesome trade there!!!! Noice!!!!!

I agree Nash is not first round material. I actually never pegged him as first round material. He was early second round at the best.

But he is still better than most PGs out there. He can single handedly help you in every category minus TOs, steals, and blocks. And the guy appears to be solid as a rock (knock on wood) and rarely misses significant amount of time (a la B-Diddy).
Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

Agreed, Nash isn't 1st round material anymore. I actually had the Last pick in the first and 1st in the 2nd round and had to pass up on him (10 team league)... ended up picking wade/granger.

That being said, it's hard to believe Nash's numbers wont increase as the season progresses and the team gels under the new coach.
