Raptor fan here... OJ Mayo...

Post#1 » by Russ369 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:17 pm

Is the most electrifying rookie ive every seen since Lebron... This kid is HAS to be on the all-star team next year... He is a lock for ROY... You guys are lucky to have him... Your GM STOLE him from Minny... I was so shocked that they would trade him away so soon...

*wishes the raptors had him* :(

From what I understand, Kevin McHale approached the Grizzlies.

To be honest, the only similarity is that they can score. Their games are totally different. Mayo is much closer to a true PG than Wade is. Wade's game is based on driving while Mayo's is based on outside shooting.

^ Mayo is going to be a dangerous player for years. I actually like him chucking as opposed to the suicide drives that wade uses. That means he'll have a longer career!

I'm sure Derrick Rose has something to say about Mayo being a lock to win ROY.

Sorry, Rose is leading the pack. If Rose doesn't injury and miss a lot of games, Rose for ROY is booked.

Mayo reminds me a lot of Ray Allen. Both super athletic guys that don't necessarily use it to get to the rack, but instead play more of an outside game that relies on deadly shooting and creating space. I think Mayo will be a similar scorer but will play better better defense and pass more effectively. The guy is special.

I'll be on the OJ Mayo bandwagon when the Grizzles win games with him. He is scoring, I'll give him that.
