Interest in Iggy

Post#1 » by BlackIce » Wed Nov 12, 2008 10:32 pm

raptors fan, besides bosh and caldy do we have anyone that would interest you for iggy once he is eligible to trade? Iggy doesn't work with Brand and isn't getting enough touchs to be effective, plus thad is a monster and future allstar that could replace him in the line up. Something like Kapono, Bargs and our 1st round pick?

Kapono, and the 1st round pick should be enough. We don't want Bargs. He is horrible.

Just for kicks, I would consider some huge deal like:

J.O. (21M)
Calderon (7.5M)
Graham or Garbahosa (to make the Salaries match)

for

Miller (10M)
Sam (10.5)
Iguodala (11.3)

Then the Sixers could go after Bosh, Lebron, Amare or DWade when JO expires in 2 years.

In 20010/11

Calderon
**** (Lebron or Dwade)
Young
Brand
Speights or Sam

There's pretty much 0% chance of Iggy getting traded anytime soon. Not only will no one want his HUGE contract but Ed might as well fire himself if he went ahead and traded someone he gave a 80m contract, after just a few months into the season.

Iguodala is a BYC player, so any move with another team over the cap would be nearly impossible.

ok i know iggy is BYC so we would have to wait to trade, so when he is eligible how about joey (expiring) parker (expiring) and kapono.

Is that an unfair deal? I really think it would be worth it. Iggy sucks. He is too inconsistent. He can's play the 2...he can only play the 3...and that is Thad's position. We don't need him anymore now that thad is here.

He was a board away from a triple-double tonight. While playing the two. Do you look for anything other than scoring when you watch a game?

I like Kapono, but he can't even start over Jamario Moon. You need to put Iggy's contract aside and look at what he brings to the table more objectively. He's worth way more than JK and a 1st pick.

Yikes - I'd love to think you guys would honestly make those trades for Iggy . . .

Seriously - I would trade Kapono + 1st for Iggy with complete disregard for any potential offense, and just for the defense at the 3 . . .

This is ridiculous, I am ashamed for my fellow Raptors fans. Why? How would you feel if Sixers offered Young and 1st for Bosh? They are our division rivals, hardly any GM is that stupid.

I get the point, and not to nit pick, but Iguodala is not Bosh... And Kapono sure as heck is not Young. You'd e surprised what teams would give up to get a rising 20 year old like Young. Certainly not a perennial All-Star like Bosh, but I would guess Young holds more value among NBA execs than Iguodala- even if the kid hasn't fully scratched the surface of his talent.

Remember when you guys had a young T-Mac who had not quite hit his stride- well that's Thaddeus Young 2008.

Thad is a cult hero around here. Iguodala takes all of the heat, while Thad is viewed as the teams future star and leader.

this would be a much more fair deal.thad young has 5435345435435345 times more value than kapono

Although there would be a lot of posters here who might disagree with me, but I wouldn't mind an Andre Bargnani + Kapono for AI2 deal. I've always liked Bargnani. :D

Years ago I use to post on this board but took a little break and finally created a new account. I am a Sixer fan living in California and have watched every game. I am not one of those geeks that know all the contract ramifications of trades and such but here is one involving Iggy that I believe would make us a better team. Some combination of Iggy and role player for Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington. Jax is a good outside shooter with above average defense. Both players want out of GS.
