I'll take bite on Clemens if Torre is x'd and Girardi takes over how about that one.
Girardi should have taken over at the end of last season. It is pretty interesting, when he is in the booth and at crucial game decision times he talks about what he would do. Sometimes it is the same thing. Other times it is completely different but I feel like it would be the right thing. I see why Torre is still here because of the "all-star" clubhouse thing but there is a huge shift in Yankee land. No longer are we the team full egotistical, self-centered, money grubbing all-star team like when we had Sheffield and Lofton. We have guys who are consumate professionals like Damon and Arod. We have proven Yankee vets like Posada and Jeter. Then we have the young kids like Melky, Wang and Cano who Girardi proved last year that he can help grow. Arod, Jeter etc. will take care of themselves, as it is, Joe doesn't really give them signs or anything, they jsut do what they think is right. So we might as well put it into Girardi's hands. -Jitpal

So Jeter and say, Damon have some mysterious brain wave that goes back and forth when Jeter wants to hit and run? No one calls that to let the runner on first know?

No I'm not saying Joe is asleep at the wheel. He sets things up but for the most part they steal when they want to steal. They take the extra base when they feel they can make it. Any manager that would take over the Yankees would be able to make those decisions. -Jitpal
