Rip looks like an okie farmar in that pix. (Kinda reminds me of amish peeps)

What happened to his face mask?

Is he taking botox injections now?

JK. :clown:

This should be an interesting matchup.

Without MyDyess they're still a very capable defensive team... and if AI & Sheed get cooking... anything can happen.

I wonder how they'll guard Kobe.

This is a game I'd watch.. hm.. I should be back around the 1st quarter to peep it. (nvm, it's on Friday.. so I should be able to make time for it)

Good luck, Lakers.

Kobe will get his pts to pass Bird in this game yay!!!

kwame will want some payback but unfortunately he cant grip the ball long enough.. lol jk kwame, u're defense is still loved here.. no hard feelings

We should dominate the boards. Just need to lock down AI and Tay.

I can't wait for this game. I love all the nba, and I don't hate many teams, but the one team I can't stand is the Pistons. I like Iverson though, but still...my Lakers better win this. lol

I think we will though. Sheed is an excellent post defender. Imo, Amir Johnson is more of a help-defender, who is prone to foul-trouble. If he is defending Pau, we should try to go to Pau in the mid-post and let him try and draw fouls on Johnson, because johnson is a very active player on both ends of the floor. If Tim Thomas was hurting us earlier in the season, Johnson may, too.

With Bynum and Gasol occupying their bigs, kobe should be able to attack prince (or maybe pick-m-roll with kobe/which ever big is guarded by amir...this way amir leaves the paint, and prince has to leave bryant.).

Defensively, just bring Iverson into help...but beware of foul trouble on our bigs, too. The rotations have to be crisper than normal because Rip's running causes chaos, as does Iverson's slashing and Sheed's big man shooting shooting. I want to see Bynum play some excellent post defense on Sheed in this game, at least when sheed goes inside.

This will be a legit test, yet at the same time, we need to take advantage of detroit's having to become familiar with a new point guard. A.I. looked to be more aggressive his last game with the pistons...he'll probably do more of the same as he begins to get comfortable with his new team. Imo, we should give help, and force him to pass the ball more. He won't be as comfortable passing to guys when he may not know exactly where they will be or where they like the ball. It is Iverson though...so this is easier said than done, but I think we have the length to do that.

I gonna say Lakers win in a see-saw game.

This will be a good test for Bynum, if for no other reason than to see how he does against a strong (big bodied) center that can defend. I think it'll give us a glimpse of how he deals with Perkins when they meet. Hopefully the Pistons give him some decent playing time. They almost have to considering how many bigs we have.

... and just as I post that, this show up in the wiretap:

NBA Wiretap Headlines wrote:Michael Curry has revealed in an interview on Stoney & Wojo show on WDFN-1130 a.m that he will be starting Kwame Brown in place of Amir Johnson, the Detroit News is reporting.

His rationale being that he thinks Rasheed Wallace will be more productive playing alongside the bigger Brown.

haven't seen kwame/detroit all yr, kinda nice that they're playing the run n gun warriors the night before playing the lakers.

bynum vs kwame, oddly enough i'm excited to see that. drew is going to be free to roam on the defensive end.

Our defense will be much better tomorrow, Kwame will not be producing on offense unless he gets some magic potion against us.

Kobe will show Kwame what it feels like to try and defend Kobe.

Can it get any better tomorrow. Lets see how many turnovers we can get off of Kwame.

I saw Detroit Vs Golden State today and Kwame is the same as ever.. even if he has a new hairdo. Biedrins was killing him offensively and defensive. He looked lost .. i guess that's why he got only 9 starting minutes on the floor.. But looking at the minutes the starters had to play Tay (46mins), AI (43), Hamilton (40), Wallace (39), they might be too tired for this back to back game.

Can't wait for bynum and pau to man handle the paint.
