Below the belt deep, waaaaaaaay below the belt! lololololDEEP3CL wrote:Have the Lakers been watching old 1980's Rams tapes on playing PREVENT defense. Sorry Phil hope that didn't sting too bad ! Anyway still a solid win, I'm not worried about them trying to keep beating teams by the average they've created as long as we get the W.

Re: Lakers vs. Hornets 11/12/2008
Only when it's not there for him dcash. That's out identity. If we get introuble in the 4th we go to Kobe, every great team has had a got to guy in the 4th. I would like to see all the guys step up so he doesn't have to do it as much, but it's normal, the Bulls went to Michael, The Celtics went to Bird, recent Lakers went to Shaq (until FT time) & Kobe, former Lakers went to Magic & the Cap. Without that you're Dallas & Phoenix its a luxury to have a player of that caliber to turn to, but tonight Kobe started that when it wasn't needed & it stagnated the offensedcash4 wrote:i don't know about anyone else, but i'm still concerned about how kobe-centered the offense gets down the stretch. whether its more kobe trying to put it on his shoulders or his teammates deferring too much, its hurting the team.

Give me Ariza over Odom any day of the week. If Ariza can get that jumper working a little better than yeah, I have to agree with your statement.

I thought it was a good game. A good wakeup call for the Lakers and giving up leads, especially against the Hornets who can put up points in a hurry.
Miles where are you in NYC? I live in stuytown, we should catch a game sometime

Thank God for DVR...
I had to watch this game on DVR since I had an opportunity to watch the Blazer-Heat game and meet Greg Oden. This guy is a gentle giant.... very respectful young man (called me "sir" and I don't think I play the part of an old "feller" yet, but he came across as total class). He came across as a bit soft since his hand shake was not a firm one, to say the least. But on the court I know he is tenacious. Best wishes and a long career to him.....
Anyways, my boy Sedale called me at half and I couldn't resist asking a game report. My first thought was last year's game at Staples when they came back, but my second thought was "this is not last year's team"....
I checked my blackberry late in the 4th and noticed the lead was cut to 7 (not knowing how much time was left). I nearly crapped my pants right there.....2 minutes later, I saw it was a final.
Regardless of the second half performance, I am relieved we walked out with a win. Wins matter. Period.
If we can continue to develop our chemistry, have guys relish and fully understand their roles and win at the same time, we will be "gold Jerry!". The potential that this team has is outright scary and I am looking forward to the day when they put all the pieces together and f*** this league up.
It's wierd that I am scoreboard watching every game with the Celtics. This reminds me of the old days when every win mattered because you just knew you HAD to have home court against the Celtics. They are winning some close games.....finding ways to win. Early on, it appears they have not lost the "thirst" to be the Champions. I honestly want to have a rematch against them. I NEED payback in order to find peace in my heart. And I hope our boys in the purple and gold want to excercise the green demons from last June. For this to happen, we'll have to do our part and show up for the dance and hope the Celtics do the same.

God New Orleans court looks so ugly. Is it just me? The logo in the middle looks nice, but everything else just looks awful.

Yeah, for sure. I'm in the village, pretty close by.
I'd say tomorrow's ESPN game, except I have to be at fat cat for a friend's birthday. Crap!
Know of any good places to catch a Laker game? I know a couple on Bleeker, don't know if they'd show Laker games or not.

Im sure any bar that has multiple TV's would let us change just one of them to the Lakers game.
There's a bar on 16th and 1st that CAL alums use as their bar. I'm sure that'd be as good a place as any other. I'm down for whatever
