OT: NBA League Pass

Post#1 » by TommyTheCat » Fri Nov 14, 2008 2:13 am

I didn't realize that the NBA League Pass automatically renewed if a cancellation isn't requested by the start of the regular season. I got a larger than usual monthly bill and called to see if there was anything I could do about it. I played dumb and told the service rep I didn't know why the bill was so high and i didn't plan on purchasing league pass this year. She offered a discount of $10 on each bill over the next 6 months.

Give them a call if you got renewed and enjoy the package @ a $60 discount

My provider ( Time Warner) gave me a 30% discount because I have phone and internet service with them as well.

Damn I wish somebody in 'all' of Canada offered League Pass.

Rogers offers it but Rogers Cable is only available in Ontario. ****ing ridiculous. :(

DoctaJ are you native born Canadian? How did you become a Laker fan? Toronto is finally good now. Do you root for them as well?

I pay for the football package for the NFL BMore Ravens it is killing me, but I love it just as well. NBA League pass in comparison is peanuts in comparison.

Tommy they auto renew all their packages if you are talkign about Direct TV.

I'm pissed, I just wrote a whole reply and then pressed the back button, lol. Oh well, here we go again haha.

Yeah Duba, I was born in Canada. To tell you the truth, I have no idea how I became a Laker. I started watching basketball when I was 5-6 (in 95-96) and they just grew as my team, lol.

As for the Raps, I never really started paying attention to them until the Grizzlies moved from Vancouver (they were my second team just because I love VanCity). I guess it helped that I hated Carter.. I know he basically put TO on the map but I just never liked the guy. I did, however always like Mo Pete and Bosh is insane. So, since the Grizz moved I've rooted for them as a "hometown" team type deal.

I'm happy they're a good team now and I hope they do real well but I don't cheer for them at the same extent as I do the Lakers. Not even close. :D

Yea I"m into my 3rd season on NBA league pass. I also like listening to the audio streams.
Farbz4 wrote:Is there anyone willing to give their League pass password so that I could watch laker games online through League Pass Broadband? I'm in college out of state and am struggling to find ways to watch the team play.

thanks

I made the mistake last season of passing it around. they pretty much just gave me a slap on the wrist by not letting me or anyone watch last season. I haven't tried this season to watch over broadband. Just pool up w/ a couple of friends and split the $100 fee is my suggestion.

That's what weird Phil. Everywhere I've seen, it says the international standalone is for outside US and Canada but the US version of it doesn't work in Canada either? A part of me think its just available in Ontario.

I've emailed them many, many times and haven't gotten a single reply, lol. :(

ya apparently if you're a TV subscriber, you're also eligible for the online league pass too to watch games on your computer...

AFAIK International LP doesn't work in Canada. Apparently the NBA thinks there's not enough Raptor fans.

It seems that you must have some luck or you may have spoken with an incoherent customer service representative, perhaps a little bit of both. I am requesting a favour, which in your case, may seem asonine but you will be doing a basketball fan for 4 years one that he will remember for quite some time (perhaps until Kobe leaves the NBA). I don't have the 99 bucks for league pass broadband and since you paid a fraction of the cost, it would serve you a great deal of good karma to pass your luck onto another (you know, like paying it forward). I am willing to offer something, if need be and if you accept, you have made more than just one NBA fan happy since I have the guys over to watch what little televised games that we can see on basic cable or stream something from a typical streaming video website. Well, its worth the shot and if you can assist me, I'd... well I'd be thankful and hope to return the favour
