Hester moves to offense (officially)

Good and bad.
Good- We add a very fast guy on our offense.
Bad- Increases his chance of injury and may cause some fatigue.

WR makes sense, I mean, wow, he's not that good at cb, and get him the ball anyway possible and he makes things happen. I like it.

doesn't matter really what he'll play, but what roster spot he'll take up

I doubt we're going to use him as much as Reggie Bush is being used. He'll most likely get about 5 touches in the offense, remember, we still got a lot of players to evenly distribute the ball: Benson, Wolfe, Peterson, Moose, Berrian, Bradley, Olsen, Clark, etc. He will always be known as a return specialist and I like the switch because it adds excitement to our offense and we all know Devin is a really really bad CB.

What a revelation!

In all seriousness, it only means we'll use him in a handful of plays. Cliff Levingston would expect us to put him in the trips formation a couple times to either run a WR Screen for him or just as a decoy. Then maybe he'll get in a couple 3rd and long plays where we go with 4 WR's.

Even if we don't plan on getting him the ball, his presence on the field commands respect from the defense.

As people might know, I'm new at football. I don't know all the rules, or plays for that matter. But I've followed the Bears all season long. Hester seemed perfect to move into the offense, and out of special team. He's so cat-quick, that I would be surprised to see him fail.

Though, I'm surprised it's as a wide-reciever. Don't they usually need to be fairly bulked up to be succesful?

Not in the slot and not when your as fast as Hester.

I think this is a great move. Not worried about fatigue at all as he'll never be coming off the field and going to return a kick (except after the 5 TD's Rex throws to the defense next season). So he should always be plenty rested. Injury? Its football - there's always injury. I'd rather have him out there regularly in the offense taking that risk than just on Kick returns taking the injury risk. I wanted this all last season!
