Can harris be a constinstent scorer?...

Post#1 » by Da big3 » Sat Nov 15, 2008 7:46 pm

can he score like 18-25 pts a night, at the beginnning he was only getting 13-15 pts, or has he turned the page, with is last 2 games being 38, and 30 pts, because if he can score 18-25 pts it can go a long way...

i think we all have seen just how good this team can be when hes on the floor. if he can average roughly 21 pts 8 assists 5 rebounds i think this team can shock alot of people. not just his numbers alone but his presence on the floor just makes the nets look like a completely different team.

My actual stats I envisioned him averages were about 17, 4 and 8. Until the rooks come along he'll have to do better, but when he's not the #2 scoring option, I'd kill for those stats (see: 2010-2011 season)

I think the real question is, can Devin Harris lead the league in scoring?....

he can with his speed and decent mid-range, but with the likes of Kobe, Wade, leBron it makes it hard...

If he keeps getting to the free throw line at the clip of a dozen per game, hell yes he can. Old news, but Dallas is so, so dumb.

I was hoping for 21, 3 and 5-6...the Nets need him to score 20+, but I think Devin is taking advantage of being able to pick and take his shots...he's really been mixing it up well w/ the pull up and driving to the basket...

if the jumper is going, people will have to double him because if anything is shaky, it's his passing. He can pretty much blow by nearly anyone in this league so even if his jumper isn't going he can still have a 20 point night. I say he averages over 20 this season and maybe even keep pace with vince.

Totally dependent on how many times he gets to the line. His jump shot has improved but thats not his bread and butter. Staying aggressive, attacking defenses and picking up fouls helps him. He should have no problem putting up 18-20pts a night

I don't think he will ever average 25 ppg however, I think he has the potential to do it. I just think he doesn't have enough playmaking ability to do it and he is just not a ballhog. I can see him become an Iverson type of player. I believe both have equal level of quickness and both has a great touch around the rim. The only thing i see that's seperate both of them is A.I. ballhandling skills. However, Harris can improve to do that category. Realistically I see harris average in his prime is 20 ppg 8 apg 2 spg 4 rpg

Devin's a GREAT player but ever since that injury last year with Dallas i've seen him sitting out alot due to injuries. Is he injury prone or is that just me?? Btw Kidd is STILL killin on the court. Oh and when does Harris's contract expire?

Devin's scoring will be dependent on his health. Guys like him relies so much on their athleticism to get to the line. One, he needs to stay healthy (no injuries to ankle, knees, etc that could slow him down). Secondly, he's not a big dude, so his body has to hold up to the punishment.

I also think the guys around him needs to keep shooting (and making) their shots. Otherwise, teams will load up the zone and key in on the paint.

You talk about comparing Devin to Wade, and realize Wade is a much stronger player than Devin, but he's also been hurt. Amazingly, AI for all the punishment he's taken over the years, has been a fairly durable guy. If he can stay healthy, I think he can be a consistent scorer.
