Belinelli

Post#1 » by jeff1624 » Sat Nov 15, 2008 7:53 pm

Hate to create this premature thread but there are rumblings about the nets acquiring him pretty soon:

Wonder who the nets are willing to deal.. Sean, Swift??

EDIT: Just hope dallas's 2010 first rounder isn't included..

I wasn't putting much stock to this really, but I guess there's enough fuel to the fire. I was thinking, could Vince be on his way to GS? New Jersey could trade Carter + Ager for Jackson, Harrington, and Marco (picks/filler can be added to balance it out).

Jackson and Harrington can start at SG/SF for New Jersey, and both contract's expire in 2010. Marco can be the backup SG.

For GS, Carter starts at SG, and it frees up minutes for Randolph and Wright. Once Monte comes back, Ellis + Carter in the backcourt, with the two young athletic guys + Biedrins up front would be a nice group for GS.

no offense but if you think GS gives up jackson AND harrington for carter you are out of your mind.

Yeah I've been trying to figure this out. I can't see it being Sean Williams because they have Brandan Wright and they're pretty similar in style and athleticism. If it was Ager for Marco that'd be an absolute steal. If Ager went, I wouldn't be surprised if we gave their 1st rounder back and got a 2nd or something in return.

Imagine if it was Stro/Ager for Marco and Jackson.

Regardless, I love Marco. Every time I talk about the Warriors and who I'd want from their roster, Marco's name comes up pretty quickly. I'm done looking at all the wacked out scenarios. Get something done and then I'll talk again.

I don't think Anythony Morrow is legit, the Warriors can keep him.

I wouldn't mind getting Belinelli, if all it costs is Maurice Ager + a second round pick or something along those lines...

Ager shouldn't even be in the NBA. Why would the W's trade the guy they picked in the 1st round last year for that bum?

I was just assuming that Nellie's "tactics" have alienated Marco so much that he just wants the hell out of there =]

Oh, I'm sure that Marco wants out. And I think once he gets his chance that he'll be a good player for whatever team gets him. But we wouldn't just give him away. He is cheap and he has potential.

Getting rid of him in a salary dump, aka Ager, isn't needed.

I really do think that there will be some sort of Belinelli-Sean Williams deal, even if some other teams get involved. Williams has had his fair share of conflict with L.Frank, as I'm sure you are aware of.

Jax isn't going anywhere Nets fans, sorry. Belli is full of potential and will probably be better in a different system than Nellies. I seriosly hope its not for Willams though, that fella has bust written all over him even if he can jump out of the gym.

And what has Belinelli shown to garner the "legit" tag?

Wade is basically Ben Gordon without the 3-point shooting. Sure, he's been a pretty good defender this year, so that would upgrade, but I'd rather have Gordon because he's cheaper and can hit those threes

I still wouldn't be suprised to see a Belinelli/Boone swap, maybe with the pick that we got for Marcus becoming a guarenteed 1st rounder, albeit heavily protected.

If we swapped Boone for Marco, I would fully support Sean Williams again. That basically would be a move by management saying "We believe you are a big part of this organization and want you to know we want you to be happy and give you ever opportunity to succeed here."

I hope this doesn't either get dragged on for a week or just simply goes away. I've wanted Marco since before he was drafted. As long as we don't do anything stupid to get him, I'll be happy with this.
