I am honestly scared. Don't know what to think.

First of all, from Chicago and Columbus, the obvious choice for us has to be Columbus. Although Columbus might be the best team in the MLS, the rage and support that Blanco would bring to the MLS cup would make it a very hostile environment for Real Salt Lake to play in LA. So they were my pick to win the matchup tonight.

However, the RSL vs. NYRB is looking tough. Juan Pablo Angel is like Kobe Bryant, and with Dane Richards on the side he can be a killer. We have NEVER, I repeat NEVER beaten the New York Red Bulls, so we would be accomplishing plenty of 1sts. I think RSL has to turn around the bad luck they have had against the Red Bulls, and win it. I am so ready for the game on Saturday, but I am honestly WAY NERVOUS.

I got my tickets ready. I am way ready to rock the upper deck. Make sure you bring some coats for the game because it is gonna be cold!

What kind of offense does NY run? and what tempo? Are they similar to Real 4-4-2 up-tempo aggressive game?

They play a an orthodox 4-4-2 and it sounds like they are looking to change that according to how we play them. They are a quick team, that it looking constantly to counter, and to setup Juan Pablo Angel in isolations or situations in which there are very few numbers to make goals. Player to watch is Dane Richards. He is the equivalent of Leandro Barbossa to the MLS, just way speedy and capable of collapsing defenses and scoring on his own. Angel is probably the best player on the MLS, and I am serious. The man is Kobe Bryant, having a very crappy season on a generally crappy team.

We play also a 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield formation, having Beckerman as the defensive midfielder and Morales. We play by finesse. We usually go through the game slow, and we build possessions from the back. Usually you will see tons of passes before we get into scoring opportunities. The man to watch is Morales. After he touches the ball, there will likely be an assist to a goal, or a goal. The man is a magician, and is able to abuse and own other players, shooting through legs, making crazy passes, and never giving up on plays. He gives the Argentinian feel to the team.

It should be an interesting game. I think Dane Richards can give Real Salt Lake a lot of trouble, so we will be depending on a star performance by Olave and Borchers.

We like to think that we play finesse but we don't really. We are one of the most physical teams in the league. We are either 2nd or 3rd in fouls committed.

Good question.

I'm pretty sure it means girls under 9 playing kickball, or soccer.

No?

My bad.

Depends on what mode we are on, defense or offense. I am speaking in terms of offense, we are pure finesse.

Defense wise, we are one of the most physical. Honestly, our team scarily sembles the Jazz a lot. RSL is disciplined in bring their attack forward. They do it slowly, through tons of passes and holding possession. They can score by running, which half of the time they score is this way, but it isn't necessarily the style of attack of RSL.

In regards to defense... Olave, Beckerman, Kovalenko, Mathis, and specially Morales are very physical, pushing, shoving, and fouling like crazy. We are ranked 3rd in fouls. We use it a lot as a scapegoat to counter runs by the other teams when they have numbers. They are physical by all means, but this is their defense.

I am pumped about tomorrow!

Wow, went to the game, and it sucked we lost. Tonight though, we were clearly the better team, and if we would have been slightly luckier, this would have been a 6-1 blowout rather than 0-1 loss. I must say though that RSL left very well, having given a very fight. For some reason, this year feels different, I am actually proud of my team. It reminds me to the feeling I had when we played San Antonio iun the Conference finals a couple of years ago.

I am proud.

Just got back from the game as well. I was honestly blown away by the intensity of the crowd. I went to a regular season game back at the U and it was nowhere near the intensity of tonight's fans. It reminded me of ESA kinda. Great game though, Real definitely would have won if the goal posts were a 1/2 inch wider :)

4 freaking goal posts hits. The Olave, Findley, Morales, Movsisyan... wow just wow.

Now for those of you who went, wasn't that a fun game despite the loss? People were standing for the last 25 minutes on the upperdeck, I was sitting in section 202, and I couldn't see anyone sitting down even in the stadium floor. Who said soccer was boring?

11 shots to 24? 24 shots, and not make one single goal. I swear it was just not meant to happen.

For sure. I never thought a soccer crowd would be that exciting and vibrant in Utah of all places, but the fans have really come around for this team and I love it.
