i don't know about Avery Johnson, Mark Cuban said several players said they wouldn't return if Avery returned. Seems like players don't accept him. I think you can have a tough coach, but one that players still respect and want to play for. There's a line between being tough on a player to bring out his basketball potential and being personally insulting to a player. Some coaches don't see that line. The Wolves can't afford to have any more walls between free agents and the franchise, we're behind as it is.

Well Avery did have the Mavs cutting up the Spurs who I thought were the best team, He had his players driving and cutting on Spurs and Pops just couldnt firgure it out.
Avery was up on Riley in the Championship series and did lose to Miami but Avery a first year coach up against Riles.
Avery would have this team going in a totaly different direction and players would be able to at least be evaulated correctly...I think Whittman is tearing these players down, seems like a good crew and MCants is selfish foye is inconsistant AJ & Love upfront look like a poor draft decision unless they are showcasing AJ.....Bring in Avery and McHale let him coach do some stuff you are good at.
