I really like Delonte as a player and even though he has never developed the necessary skills to be a full time pg in the league. It is funny when you see Boston now Rondo shows you how far from a starter he really was but House shows you how good a combo guard he really is.

Yeah I can tell you really like Delonte because honestly he isnt' much better then House and probably never will be. House has the shooters mentality that I prefer out of a bench guy and is a better fit for us, IMHO. D. West got "down" on himself and would go cold or pout. Thank god he is getting some mental help. It was really annoying when he was with us..

He is a lot better than house. He is a better defender, better ball handler and create more offense or himself off the dribble. House is great in his role with us. But, I would much rather have Delonte in the same role with us.

^^Then we probably wouldn't have won the title last year, GregB...House is a shooter with ice water in his veins...would you have wanted Delonte taking those big shots in the game 4 comeback, for example?

And I like Delonte, don't get me wrong, but that ship has sailed...

Delonte + Paxil is probably better then House. But had he been on our team last year he might have been pouting as he would be playing behind Rondo. House if your picking a group of guys for 5 on 5 might be a slightly inferior player but if you want a guy to come in off the bench - no questions asked and take tough shots. House is the guy.

House has a steadfast belief in himself. It was the same with Posey last year. Gomes is a better player then Posey. (I'd say the gap is far larger then West vs. House) But for us we needed Posey's steadfast belief in his ability..

I'm not sure! They appear to be ahead of the Celtics in every offensive category.

The closest and toughest series by far was against Cleveland not against LA. And in that series, Delonte was a huge factor and House was a nonfactor. Delonte got to play with just 1 star and House got to play with 3. Delonte was the second best Cavalier in that series and was the 6th or 7th best player overall in that series. And in game 7 down by 3 with about a minute to go, Delonte took the big shot and it looked good but rolled in and out. I think that would have been his 18th point if it went in.

I do agree with Pete on one issue and that is personality. House was the perfect personality for this team. He is energetic, never doubts himself on the court and he knows his role and never backs away from it. If West is going to be a part time starter/reserve he has to realize that his shot is what makes him valuable and he has to take it without hesitation when it is there.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

^^Of course House was a non-factor in the CLE series, he barely played at all in the playoffs until the end of the DET series...because for some face-saving reason Danny and Doc played Cassell to the hilt and left Eddie rotting on the bench after Eddie had been the (successful) backup PG for 75 games of the regular season. Once Eddie was in and Sam was out, notice how much easier it got??

Talk about messed up logic...

First off House didn't play vs. Cleveland! Maybe that made him less of a factor. Right now Delonte is better then House. But the Delonte of last year? Before his mind altering drugs - hell no. He would have been whining about playing behind Rondo and wouldn't have done jack for us. He was an AWFUL bench player with us. People seem to forget that. The only time he did anything decent was when he started.

The reason he played well in the Cleveland vs. Boston series is because he had something personal to prove and was able to blank out his normal psychological type issues. I am glad he got some help. But I am not so glad that Cleveland found someone talented to play PG.. <g> Mo Williams is better then Rondo right now. :(

As for being the 2nd best player on Cleveland..we matched up fine against him with Rondo. It was the inside bigs that beat the crap out of our smaller line. Sadly we have the 6'6" "center" BBD back for us again. <g> That hasn't improved one bit.
