Blank says he was 'stern' with Vick over recent troubles

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sun May 13, 2007 1:27 am

Hmm, will see!

"I told him, 'You represent us as a franchise, you represent yourself as a person and you represent the NFL. It's not one single thing, it's a series of things,"' Blank said.

"What (Goodell) will do about it, I'm not sure, but he's not going to take it lightly," Blank said. "He's got Michael on his radar and I think he made that clear to Michael as well."

Vick hasn't been convicted of anything yet. Unless he is Roger can try to suspend him but he will just appeal it. Goodell has no evidence right now to suspend him.

And Blank has set down with Vick and told him to knock it off. Blank knows that if he messes up he will be suspend, so he set down with him and told him to knock it off.

Vick will be suspended as soon as he is indicted. Roger doesn't have to wait for him to actually be convicted.

Haven't you been paying attention to the Pacman Jones thing?

You actually have to have evidence before a case even gets to court. Pacman has actually been to court on charges and has been involved several times. Until the courts bring him in and have a court date, Goodell can suspend him, but the players union would jump all over that since he hasn't been convicted or even indicted. He won't ne indicted unless there is some evidence that the police are keeping secret about.

If Vick goes to court and they find him guilty, then I would approve of a suspension. But until that happens, suspending him on a whim would cause a bad domino effect.

THATS ALREADY HAPPENED! Vick doesn't have to be found guilty of anything , Roger can (and will) suspend him anyway.

There are also reports that there is some pretty serious hard evidence linking Vick directly to this anyway.

Get used to Harrington being our starter.

^ Is it really THAT likely that Vick gets suspended? If so, how long do you expect him to be suspended?

There are reports? Since when do reports mean someone is guilty. Until he is convicted of the crime, I doubt Goodell does anything. How bad would it look for him if he suspended him, then Vick isn't found guilty of anything? He was cleared of wrong doing with the water bottle incident, so Goodell couldn't use that on him. Right now the only thing Goodell has on him is the chance of dog fighting, nothing else. If he does suspend him without Vick being found guilty of anything, the players union will jump all over that. Pacman and Henry were suspended for several things and actually being convicted of things. People thing he is involved with it, but with it being such a high profile media case, it would be hard to get any evidence not out in public. I have a feeling that he won't be convicted of anything, and thus won't get a suspension. If he is, he would be suspended maybe 4 games at the most, with 2 being more likely. Not gonna give him such severe punishments like Henry and Jones, due to their acts and the number of them.

Has anyone listened to 680 the fan lately? IMO, they are getting out of hand by bashing Mike, and jumping to all the negative conclusions that come to mind.

Has Pacman been found guilty of anything that happened in Vegas yet? No.

He was just there, followed by a history of run ins with law enforcement.

He has had his run ins with the law. He has been arrested and charged with several crimes, including something in Fayetteville. The Las Vegas thing isn't his first run in with the law.

The Las Vegas thing is why he was suspended.
