If I start a Robert Swift thread..

Post#1 » by Andrew McCeltic » Wed Nov 19, 2008 3:45 am

Will anyone take it seriously?

Dude's still only 22, he's averaging 6.5 boards in just under 18 minutes - looks like he's doing a decent job recovering from injury. He's behind Collison, Petro and Wilcox when he's healthy on the depth chart, he'd be a great acquisition- young, cheap, upside, and able to contribute now as part of our second unit.

He is actually starting for them as of late. He is starting to play well again, the only problem is he can't stay healthy.

He's been starting, and I don't know he's available. I agree he would be a great acquisition for a cheap price. As I've metnioned in the past, anybody that looks as goofy and awkward as Robert Swift, who can garner so much attention as a lottery pick straght outta high school while refusing workouts, has gotta have something going for him. Then when he can be persistently injured and still generate a buzz once healthy again, there's some validation, IMO.

i thought the rest of the OP would be "... and nobody responds, would it actually exist?"

seriously tho, freddie krueger would be great but i don't think we'd get him cheap. he's still a young talented 7 footer, and his injuries aren't career threatening.

OKC has 5 centers, 3 PF's and only two SF's and SG's each on their roster, so they are very light on the wings. One of their 3 PG's wants out of town, and considering their record, they may want to part with Swift or Smith for a good guard or SF.

Problem is who do we trade? Scal's value could be peaking right now, but it obviously isn't enough to get either Swift or Smith.

Scals value is peaking because it couldn't be any lower. That doesnt make sense oh well.

I forget what the over/under was during the offseason on how early into this season someone would start a Robert Swift thread but here it is, you win!!

Seriously, can we get off this guy already? Enough is enough! I know he's decent but his fanboys on here make him out to be the second coming of Dave Cowens or something...sheesh!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I honestly couldn't look at that guys hair every game. He looks like a wnba player. Sure he'd be one of the better looking one's, but a wnba player nonetheless.

I think we have enough prospects in the system, seemingly at every position. I think at this point some veteran presence is more important at strategic spots (Center, SF, PG in that order) rather than another guy needing development.

Seriously, he needs to cut that hair. Pet Peeve of mine.

That is probably the only thing I like about scal. Is that he keeps it shaved:

I saw some of their game the other day. Swift has cut his hair, it's short now. He doesn't look like a 80's rock star anymore.
