Until then, I wouldn't brag too much about this win if I was a Magic fan. Especially when the Raptors were without Jose Calderon. Will Solomon had 7 turnovers...........Calderon sure as hell wouldn't have let that happen. And of course, the 3pt shooting difference between Calderon and Solomon.
Right...and if the tables were turned, Raptors fans wouldn't brag about beating the Magic? How about 4-1 in the playoffs last year? Can we not brag about that?
The Magic were missing one of their most productive players tonight and got little to no help from their bench. They played awful in the first half and despite the Raptors shooting the lights out, kept the game tied going into the 3rd quarter. Our starters turned it on just enough to handily beat you guys even though Bosh had the game of his life and Dwight had an off night, fouling out in the 4th. I wouldn't even say we played our game that well. The Raptors were just bad enough hand the Magic the victory. Take away Soloman's 7 TO's and the team's assist-turnover ratio is still less than 1 (12-14).
Imagine if somebody went over to the Raptors board before the game and said "tonight Mikael Pietrus is out with an injury, JJ Redick is going to get his first NBA start of his career after going 0-10 to start the season, Bosh is going to drop 40/18, O'Neal is going to play phenomenal defense on Dwight, D12 is going to foul out of the game, Turkoglu is going to have 6 points going into the 4th, the Magic will turn it over 16 times and shoot 45% for the game, both teams will attempt and make the same amount of free throws, the Raptors will out-rebound the Magic 44-37, and Toronto is still going to lose by 13." The Raptors board would probably be livid and people would say it's ridiculous. So sue us if we revel a bit in our team holding the upper hand in this heated rivalry.
