I don't know much about the guy, but at this point I prefer this route over hiring some retread with a familiar name.

Yeah, there is not really much to be said about this. I guess it is just wait and see. Hopefully now we can get down to some player movement.

Wakamatsu has been a rumored candidate for a number of managerial jobs lately, and I think he's highly regarded. Between him and our new GM, Jack Zdxzygzzvqrkxcic or whatever his name is, this team has sure hired a mouthful in the offseason. (And to think, they could have gone with Kim Ng and Joey Cora -- just 13 letters total!)

Makes it harder to insult them. Smart move by the organization, but hopefully it won't come to that.
