OT: Stupid of me...

Post#1 » by CuttingEdge » Thu Nov 20, 2008 2:21 am

This kid has advanced timing and knows how to make the most of his limited minutes. Easily better than any 5 in this league defensively and once he gets his offensive game together he'll be better than Dwight. Given his advanced game IQ and if his injuries will cease altogether I think he'll be a hall of famer. He can easily shut down Yao with blindfolds...

Yao continues to recover and back into form. Oden is kind of hesitant to go against people bigger than him. He's definitely scared of Shaq and when he plays Yao probably the samething.

****, I'd do it. Oden might be the only guy who's a bigger injury risk than Yao, but Greg is clearly already the better player. Dude's getting 10-7-2.4 in less than 22mpg.

Blazers wouldn't do it. The Rockets trading Yao would be a big red flag to the rest of the league. As of this very moment. We are better off waiting until 2010 and letting him walk.

lol.... We have no chance of getting Oden.

The Blazers don't want scrubs on their team.

We want to win now, not 5 years later. Greg Oden has shown me nothing, special. Yao's 1st year 13.5 and 9 rebounds at 29 mins.

Oden is averaging 3.6 fouls a game... with his limited time. If he tried 35+ mins, he would foul out.

Bunch of Yao haters, Rockets best chances is now if we have everybody healthy.

Oden is quite a ways away from being a good C-he has ZERO offensive game unless he's hand-fed a dunk. I've just finished watching the Blazers last 2 games and he made 1-count 'em 1-decent offensive move. I swear against GS he moved like Motumbo-the old Deke, not the young one. I was really shocked at how poorly he moved, there's no smoothness,no flow to his game. Yeah he's rusty and is young and is coming off injuries, etc, but he still looks slow and clumsy on offense. He never seemed to see open teammates who were not right in front of him. He may become an excellent defensive C,but he sure looks a guy who won't ave more than 15-16 points/game.

Dwight and Bynum both moved so much more fluidly in their rookie seasons even tho they too were very raw offensively. Yao might have been slow as s***,but you could still see smoothness in his shot.

The best young C out there for Adelman's system is GS's Biedrins. Kid can rebound, block shots and is an excellent passer w/great vision, touch. No outside shot, but knows how to roll off a pick/roll to perfection w/soft hands and excellent finishing ability. Pau Gasol would also be another great fit,but he's not leaving LA.

But it's all academic-the Rockets aren't trading Yao,and he won't explore FA.
Other than Brooks, everybody else on the team better not sign a long-term lease or spend much on renovating their house.

Oden is averaging 10/8 with only 20 mpg. I don't know how you can call that overrated. Barring injuries, this kid will be a star in the future.

So are you guys like bi-polar or something? Seriously who in their right mind would trade Yao for Oden especially considering we're in win now mode. Oden is going to be the next Mutombo, not the next Shaq.

Oden could quite possibly be the 2nd clumsiest guy next to yao. He looks awkward out there if he's not wide open for a dunk. If I'm an NBA coach, im not game planning against Oden, im setting up defenses against Roy. Once Oden is the focal point of a Defense you will truly see how crappy he is, especially now with his lack of offense. That's not saying he wont get better, but I never see him replacing Yao unless Yao is like 33 or so.
