The Game in England

Post#1 » by HIF » Sun Apr 8, 2007 10:21 am

The tickets were over subscribed in two days - don't think I'll be able to get one. If anyone knows of tickets over there that I can get hold of please let me know. I saw the Fins play in their american bowls in London (including Dan V Montana) but really NEED to see a real game in the UK.

hope so

I guess I'll go in my old Marino shirt from longer ago than I can remember.

Ticket cost me about $150 with the agent's fee. remind me how much a regular season ticket costs in Miami.

I also got hold of a top ticket for the NBA pre-season game in London the week before between the Celtics and the Timberwolves. the price was terrible though (almost $200). I must be crazy.

WHo really cares about the game in England?
Why can't we talk about the roster changes or players that are going to impact this team next season.
Will Beck start?
Is Booker a solid backup?
Will Chambers return to 05 form?
Is Marty coming back?
Will Ginn be a star?
Channing Crowder's possible pro bowl year....
Bell becoming a star safety
Jason Allen boom or bust?
CUllpepper's knee
will we get Green?

Well I do obviously.

And it is a regular season game, so I'd suggest that any dolfan should be.

your post was rather rude. why didn't you just start a new thread?

Dave Hyde writes about the absurdity of the England game in this morning's Sentinel. And yes, he nails it...it all still is very much absurd.

I agree with Hyde, I think H Wayne did a quid pro quo in order to get the 3 Super Bowls here, bringing in millions to the community and prestige to himself and his stadium. I say, so what, better this season than one where we expect to contend.

You'll find that Wembley stadium sold out many times over in 48 hours. There will be an amazing atmosphere with Fans whose knowledge will surprise America. And I'd bet that the majority of the crowd will support the Fins.

Sure, that's fine, but I would think that the benefit of having South Beach would give us a little more bargaining leverage than that. So Goodell and the NFL are dangling a Super Bowl as bait in exchange for being the first sacrifical lamb of the globilization of the league, well, what if we refuse? Where else are they gonna take the Super Bowl, freezing cold Indianapolis? Disease-ridden Detroit? How about middle-of-nowhere Jacksonville again? I dunno, just seems to me that, one way or another, the NFL wouldn't be able to ignore Miami as a SB destination for too long anyway.

I say, so what, better this season than one where we expect to contend.

I saw it the exact opposite way. We won all of 6 games last season, so I don't think we're in any position to put ourselves at any kind of competitive disadvantage.

I'm happy with another middling season, weeding out the wheat from the chaff, seeing growth among the offense (and Beck by the end of the season) and getting another set of good picks next year...
